I second that...please go to Oregon. Kiffin is trying to set the tone by early morning conditioning, checking in on classes and weeding out bad eggs. What kind of example does it set for our current players if we take Oku or Brown. Especially Brown after calling out our current athletes. If I was already on scholarship and he did pick us....he would not be welcomed with open arms.

I would wany Brown or Oku to come. For no other reason than to be able to welcome them to college football. For instance, I bet Mr. Berry would be licking his chops to face plant either one of them into the turf.

Hah! Probably what Oklahoma, Michigan, South Florida and Oklahoma State thought the last time we played them. I hope they figure it as a scrimmage.

I can promise you that with Florida a week later, Oregon will be a one-week conversation about hoping we don't overlook you.

2010 is our next best chance at the Gators. That date is already on most of our calendars. Your team will be used to help the Vols get ready for the following week. It's a scrimmage. You might win it, but if we win the following week, nobody in Knoxville will care.

Well it's the second time he's dogged a school in the press at least. He did it to Miami - and he did it to UT by saying the players we have wouldn't be able to get done what Kiffin wants to do. I don't like this situation any more. I don't care if we get him or not. I won't dog him like he did our players, but I would prefer it if he went elsewhere. Not a huge stretch, because I've been saying for months that he's headed to Oregon anyway, but I would applaud the coaches if they told Brown the same thing Miami did.

You're right, but he said those things in the media prior to visiting UT this past weekend. He hasn't had nothing but good things to say about UT since. He had high praise for CLK, CMK, and OC and the rest of the staff. He was on the outside looking in. I would make that assumption too, if I knew a team just went 5-7.

I think its Miami trying to save face.

And honestly guys, when was the last time a recruit has said, "The visit sucked, 0% chance I go there now?" They always tell the media how great it was blah blah blah.

good point, i've never heard that before.

how is he going to be a problem? he seems like a pretty good guy, he just wants whats best for him and his family. its gotta be a tough decision. and too be honest if i had the talents and all these colleges talking to me, i'd take my time as long as i could.

But, I realize that, when a team isn't good now, they have to rely on history and the rest of their conference to feel good about it. So, I understand.

That is not true at all; most people here are simply frustrated that you are acting like 2008 is all that matters. If that were the case, Vanderbilt would be more attractive to recruits than Michigan is. Northwestern would be more attractive than Notre Dame. That just isn't the case because history matters. When a team has been good for almost its entire history and has won multiple national championships (Tennessee), a recruit is much more likely to lend that school credibility as opposed to somewhere like Oregon that will only be in the national championship hunt for one year out of about ten when everything falls into place.

After consecutive losses to Oklahoma you beat them at home...by one...before going 5-5 in the Pac 10 and finishing 7-6...congrats

He would be wise to be more cautious selecting his words considering these guys he is dogging may be his future teammates. I don't care when it was said or why it was said, you don't dog your teammates in the press like that. I never thought the rumors about him being all about himself were true until I read that. And he dogged Miami's offense too. His recruiting adviser needs to better advise him on WTF to say and what not to.

I haven't thought he was coming here for awhile so this isn't sour grapes on my part - I don't roll like that anyway - I'm just making an observation. I've taken up for him on here in the past, but I won't be doing it anymore. If Shannon doesn't re-extend a scholly, he will be elevated a notch in my eyes.

Agree. Good post!

He's getting really bad advice or just has a bad attitude/perspective on the reality that he will be one on a team of many.

What I miss most about Tennessee football is the heart and soul of unbridled dedication to the team(to me that's best represented by the 1985 Vols). I don't miss talented 5* players as we've had plenty of them over the last decade without a championship.

We've got the most talented, dedicated team leader in all of college football. If I was Kiffin, I'd ask for his opinion. If Berry doesn't want this guy (as the team leader), I'd join Shannon and tell him look elsewhere.

Then, we will have officially told both of the AA MVP's to take a hike in one year. That's bold.

people need to lay off BB. hes an incredible talent and we will be extremely lucky to land him. so what hes taking a little extra time to make his college choice. its an important decision that will have an impact on the rest of his life. he has no character problem that anyone knows of for sure, its all just rumor.

No your an idiot because you do not want the #1 player in the nation to come to tennessee because of something you have no idea about.
