people are overlooking the fact that he knew he wanted to visit UT before he even decided if he wanted to visit LSU. I think everyone is getting way too scared of LSU

No your an idiot because you do not want the #1 player in the nation to come to tennessee because of something you have no idea about.

I'm an idiot? Really? You claim that I have no idea what I'm talking about. You swear you are the sh!t because you talked to this dude online. That does not mean you have anymore insight into this dude's recruitment than we do.

And to clarify, did I ever say I didn't want Brown to come to UT?

Sorry i thought u were the one going off about him being a prob.....but i dont claim to be the "SH!t" about him.....I want him to come to Tenn and I have an Inside source. I have done some research about him and am d@mn tired of ppl dogging him about not wanting to come here. He is a 18 year old kid who has a person to help with his recruitment. I dont blame him a bit. I was recruited last year as a baseball player, and it was very difficult to tell a coach "No" if they asked if i was interested and wanted to visit. Imagine how hard it is to tell the top SEC and NCAA coaches "no". He is under alot of pressure and is doing his best to get this right, from what i have read. More power to him, if i was him i would do the same thing. and Where do u get that I claim and try to be the "Sh!T" on the guy? All do is post what inside info I have and my opinion.

people need to lay off BB. hes an incredible talent and we will be extremely lucky to land him. so what hes taking a little extra time to make his college choice. its an important decision that will have an impact on the rest of his life. he has no character problem that anyone knows of for sure, its all just rumor.

You should probably quote the person you are addressing this to. I said nothing at all about him waiting 'til after signing day. That's his prerogative. I am referring to his comments and will also reference the comments of his coach.
"It's always been him and then everybody else," Byers said about Brown to the New York Times. "Our team chemistry was nonexistent."
I don't think that a coach just comes out and says something so inflammatory if it isn't true. Especially if Brown is the upstanding young man that he wants us to believe he is.

:dunno:

Street Handler sounds right.

Agent sounds too professional. An agent would have made short work out of this decision and avoided some of the fallout that Shannon is about to bring down on this guy.

He should have signed already. Surely they know Kiffin doesn't mind telling players they don't fit.

And what or who is your inside source? By the way he is 17 not 18.

that article gives me way more respect for brown and butler to be honest.

Really? Not me. Anyone can go around quoting scripture and such. Doesn't make them any better than anyone else which is the way it reads to me to imply. It's a joke that the guy puts this on his website. Why should he care what some writer thinks anyway? Turn the other cheek.

here are some quotes

So where does all this leave Brown? It looks more and more as if this could come down to Oregon and Tennessee, with LSU a possibility depending on how his visit goes.

Oku, a one-time Tennessee commitment, apparently is upset that the Vols brought in Brown for a visit;

Geathers will decide among Georgia, Tennessee and UCF on Friday, and confidence is high in Knoxville, but with Georgia now offering in writing the Bulldogs could be the team to beat due to family connections

orson charles-Sources continue to say that Georgia has the lead, followed by Tennessee, with USC having a puncher's chance. The only school among his finalists not mentioned often is Florida.

thats rediculous

When I first read this, I'll admit I thought more about Jim Jones than Charlie Manson in how they got their fame started. That's about as positive of a spin as I can give it.

Why so much emphasis on the "goofy little thing" quote... when did the whole fasting thing even come up, did someone make a big deal on a msg board calling it goofy?

I can't find the MiamiRivals.com site that Butler's site references.

If you guys at Bryce, Inc. read VN, could you provide a link to whatever is bugging you?

My concern is this... from what I have observed, read, and heard I think Bryce is probably a pretty good kid with decent character. I don't see anything wrong with him taking as much time as reasonably allowed to make his decision, I have done the same when offered jobs. I also do not see any issue at all with a recruit having a advisor/trainer/rep or whatever you want to call it. This is actually very common for top notch athletes, especially in Texas. At top notch high schools this is usually a role that the high school coach takes on, but thats probably not an option for Bryce at Wichita East. Having observed high school sports in Wichita I can this without blinking: High school sports, not just football, are very poorly funded and for the most part neglected by the public school system. The level of competition is not great and the facilities stink. Given the situation, I would actually applaud the Brown family for bringing someone in from the outside to gain advice and exposure for their son if they did not feel comfortable doing it themselves or did not have confidence in the head coach at Wichita East to represent Bryce's best interest.

But...

If I wanted quiet time to go over my decision and pray, I would do just that. I would take my visits, come home, talk to the people I trust, and consider my options. I would not be on TV and I would not have a representative making web announcments on my decision making process.

My two cents...

The fact is that none of us know Bryce well enough to pass ANY sort of judgment on him. When he made the comments about our offense he was just answering a direct question from Rivals and he gave his honest opinion. It wasn't a personal attack and certainly wasn't intended to offend anyone.

I think most people need to realize that this is a tough process for anyone, much less a young man such as Bryce. I wouldn't want anyone to judge me from a comment that I made that might have been taken out of context or just taken the wrong way. Recruiting is tiresome to follow so just realize that these are kids and haven't had to ever deal with anything of this magnitude ever, but they're doing the best they can.

I'm sure BB will succeed wherever he goes and good luck to him.
