This attrition is like the Butch classes. But I’d rather see it happen before they come in and screw up team chemistry.

I get it that players commit to a coach and all that. But Pruitt was a terrible head coach. Our team actually regressed under him. I was more shocked that these 4 star players were willing to sign up for an underperforming coach. I personally think at least on paper we upgraded the head coaching position. When you throw in the improper benefits, it makes you wonder about all the ones leaving. I think if it is proven a student athlete took money, their eligibility should end right there.

The NLI isn’t supposed to be how kids learn responsibility. And if we’re being totally honest, reexamining his options after we pulled the rug out from under him is pretty responsible.

Pulling a bait and switch and then holding him hostage is only teaching responsibility in the sense that going through something awful “builds character.”

I understand your point and agree, however, I'd make an exception for one of the best edge rushers in the 21' class. At least take the $ out of the bag and just leave the quarter pounder in there as a last ditch effort.

If you are going to compare them to "workers" then they should allow to unionize and get paid. I don't think that is a sound comparison in my opinion. We just need to do what everyone else does, if others SEC schools don't let a signee out of their commitment without conditions, then neither should we. If we don't get the benefit then we should not give the benefit. That was the same motto for the inter-conference transfer rule, so should be our position now.

Don't you mean regressed? Our team was guilty of many things last season but temporarily straying from the subject wasn't one of them.

I didn't make the comparison; I responded to the one that made it. The point of the comparison was "is this the lesson we want kids to learn? That's they can just quit if their boss gets fired?" Well, yeah. Whether or not Brooks should be allowed out of his NLI (he should), there's nothing wrong with teaching the lesson that you don't have to put up with a crap situation.
