Breaking Bad on amc

This is definitely going in an extremely dark direction......more so than it has been recently. Jesse has become essentially a prisoner of sorts to Walt. Sad to see, especially since it's apparant at this point that Jesse wants nothing whatsoever to do with the business and would rather just up and leave so he can lead his own life.

Funny scene at the dinner table, though. Green beans were awesome, yo.

I laughed hard at that scene.

Can't believe Walt wouldn't take the money and run. Some times he's just too dumb to believe. He may have a master plan up his sleeve, but he didn't when he was initially rejecting the $5M. Excited to see what his plan is.

If he took the money and ran, the show would be over. BB likes to throw logic and reason out the window for the sake of story.

At this point I'd be surprised if he did take the money and run.

I thought Walt's explanation on turning down the money was adequate. It's not about the money. It's more about proving he can succeed at something. From the beginning of the show, the job of high school teacher was always one he seemed to be stuck with. He believed he was meant for much greater things. While becoming a drug kingpin isn't exactly admirable, it's more about the respect it garners from people inside that life. He wants to be respected and feared by his competitors.

Anyways, I don't know if this has been mentioned, but a few shows ago there was a scene where Walt and Walt Jr. were watching Scarface. One of them mentions everyone dying in the end. I just felt like they were telling us the way it will play out, or at least trying to put that idea into the viewer's mind.

The thing about that is he was saying his wife hates him and the business is all he has left, but the business is the reason his wife hates him. I saw that explanation as a ruse to get Jesse's sympathy. If he sells out, he gets his kids back, and can work on his marriage (I would personally welcome Skyler's hate and take it as an opportunity to leave that tired old snatch).

Walt leaving the drug business now isn't going to change Skyler's feelings for him. She wouldn't allow the kids to be around him. Personally, I think he may kill her just to get the kids back.

Why do you say it wouldn't change her feelings? Why do you assume she wouldn't let him see the kids, and how could she prevent him from seeing the kids? She could dime on him, but that would destroy her life, and the lives of her children, so I'm not seeing that.

Then how is she preventing him from seeing them now? She could still rat him out even after he sells all the methlamine. She has made up her mind. I can't remember if she knows he has killed anyone, but she already believes him to be a dangerous man. Stepping away from the game isn't going to make him seem anymore dangerous because he has shown he would do some crazy things. She almost ratted him out to Marie. Once he realizes how close she is to snitching and the fact that he can't see the kids with her around.

Good points, but she was potentially willing to narc because she has no hope. If he gets out of the game that changes, IMO.

Not really, I thought the seasons-long exposition of why Walt won't sell out is fairly logical

I'm talking about the series as a whole. He was gone from mild mannered teacher to drug kingpin that has managed to destroy everyone in his way in a year. That's not logical or reasonable, but that's why its a tv show. You have to be willing to put some of that aside.
