good luck to bhh, but him and his camp better be careful how they handle this situation. his next move could derail his career plans if they don’t choose the right path. sucks to see him leave, was really looking forward to his development next year.

“Smokey the Dog Nation.” Notice he also didn’t specifically thank Barnes like most people do when they transfer. Sour grapes.

I’m sorry but “Smokey the dog nation” is taking me out 😂 where the hell did he get that from?
Unfortunate loss, but I didn’t think he’d stick around for more than two years anyhow so if we get that Lofton dude from La Tech for next year that’d be an obvious upgrade. Heck ON coming back if an upgrade over BHH unless Brandon improved a lot in the offseason

I'm not too shocked by this. Basilio and his people have been dropping hints all year about BHH, making me wonder if he'd work out here. I do think it helps with Phillips and another big man who is in the portal.

Not to take anything away from Basilio, but these rumblings have been around since his recruitment.

Was high on the kid, he has a lot potential and could be a force - but even I, as high as I have been on him, had to finally acknowledge and accept that the knock about him has largely been true. Hope he gets his head on straight, gets some people around him that have his best interests at heart, and finds success. But he’s going to have to realize he’s going to have to work for it.

I’m wondering if he was influenced by any friends in 2022 class. He re-classified to be here. Maybe he wants a re-do in the recruitment

Seems pretty revealing, for him to address that way. Almost like he didn’t buy in

BHH evidently has a group of “advisors” who expected more this yr (talk of him going pro this year was crazy talk). Whenever the player doesn’t meet the advisors expectations, it’s gotta be coaches fault. The advisors can’t say “you’re not ready” when they’ve preached “1 yr here” for sometime. Probably looking for mo NIL money.

Sure he is a good kid with a high ceiling but he wasn’t the player I thought he would be. He is going so I figured it may take a season or two to develop. Not sure what his advisors saw that I didn’t as he isn’t NBA material @ this time.

Coach Barnes alluded to this briefly last week without naming any names. The outside influence is an ever-present force and frankly WE DON'T NEED IT! I actually feel bad for these "kids" because it's difficult enough to be successful.... just imagine having that noise in your ears constantly. Attend a high school sporting event or "travel ball" game...you can spot those people in these kids' lives immediately.

Doesn't mean he is gone, Barnes has to convince him to stay.

CRB doesn't have to do anything...BHH's potential to develop under CRB and staff has been shown and proven by past players (e.g., Grant and Admiral). BHH needs to figure it out but seems clear he is not willing to do what is being asked so next man up.

Hopefully he comes back. He was very skilled offensively. He obviously wasn’t ready from a conditioning standpoint, though he got better as the year went on. I think he will get used to the speed of the game more next season and be a very good player wherever that may be.

IMO he was about where K Alexander was as a Freshman. He needed 3 or 4 years to develop. I like Plavs aggressive play but he’s no future NBA guy & BHH was getting less minutes than UP. This should tell BHH something because Barnes & all his staff are gonna put who gives them best chance to win. The only thing that he can hope for is if he goes to an entirely different offense system & it fits him other than that if you feel entitled you’ll never make it.

Aidoo is my boy! I got hype every time he played. Hopefully he can continue to progress. He reminds me of Kyle Alexander.

His chances of having an NBA career is looking slimmer to none.

His attitude won’t get him far.
His "handlers" are going to ruin his career, then leave him stranded and blame HIM when it all dries up.

Someone mentioned he's played at 6 schools in the last 6 years. And I'm sure every time it was because, "You're better than these guys and that coach doesn't know what's best for you." Until it was, "Go take over the SEC and be a 1 and Done." Now it's back to the first one.

Rumor is he is getting some bad advice from his mom who thinks he isn’t being handled properly here. He skipped practice yesterday and then allegedly called Barnes demanding he be guaranteed 30 MPG or he leaves. You can probably guess how that went over with Rick.
There ya go.
