#BoycottNRA

So that’s a correct statement but I think a better ending sentence would have been “ and FFLs are not the only people allowed to sell guns at gun shows”

I don’t have a problem with a dude walking around with one gun and a sign that says “$250 OBO” but I would hope the show makes him ask for ID for age verification. Plus I could swear the last show I went to made me show proof of age, gray hair and all.

I think a guy that sets up 10 guns on a table with price tags has established a storefront and believe he should be treated as such. The gun show is insuring his store front has foot traffic. I have no idea of the actual requirements on this individual though I will admit.

If they can prove it’s how you make a living they will nail you to the wall. A guy who buys a table to liquidate his collection isn’t in business. A guy consistently selling multiple guns at every show “privately” is going to draw attention. If there’s an ATF field office within a decent distance of where you live it’s a safe bet they have trolled local shows and looked for this very thing.

And I support nailing the guy. Saw your other post on the topic with info on current show practices thanks for the info.

One of my teachers in middle school was an army reservist. If he wanted to carry, I'd be perfectly comfortable with it

I gave my children guns, each got a 10/22 at 10. Did the same for my niece and will when my nephews turn 10.

Spoiling them early. I didn't get my 1st gun till my 12th Christmas. Iver Johnson 410 shotgun.

Really anymore I go to see what may walk through the door. Very rarely do I find something of interest on the tables. I haven’t bought a gun at a gun show in several years, though I’ve been to several. US milsurps have dried up and what does occasionally appear is overpriced. And more and more the tables are junk- T-shirts, jewelry, jerky, kids toys, etc. Not worth the price of admission. I think long term the big gunshows will survive but many of the smaller ones will stop. Once the less tech savvy owners turn over their guns to the internet crowd the need for shows will pretty much vanish.

Under federal law, private-party sellers are not required to perform background checks on buyers; whether at a gun show or other venue. ... Access to the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) is limited to FFL holders and FFLs are not issued to persons that only sell firearms at gun shows.

This is a "loophole" that should be immediately closed.

#boycottnra. Just reading this stuff on twitter is hilarious . “ I’m not going to rent a car from Avis or Hertz because they give discounts to NRA members.”

What a bunch of ****ing clowns. We can have discussions on how to fix this issue that is clearly a problem in our country, but stop acting like the damn moral authority.

Speaking of the cowardly deputy... If we can't rely on grown ass men with kevlar vests and training to run into the line of fire - how in the hell are we going to reasonable expect to arm the biology teacher?

If'n I'm a teacher - f that, I don't want to become the target #1 of a hormonal lunatic that just failed a quiz on The Great Gatsby. Not for $40k a year.

Expect? Not necessarily or really at all. That's a faux argument.

Should you or others be given the right to defend yourself if it's your room the gun man targets?

Who am I to tell you that you shouldn't have that choice?

Take the issue of peer to peer weapons and your proposed change up with your congressman?

I doubt peer to peer will ever go sway. No real way to regulate it without tracking every single weapon. And you think the 2a people are frothing and rabid now just try that angle. 😬

I still say there's something missing from that video link you posted.

Call me crazy, but I just don't trust the media to be objective, unbiased and truthful when it comes to things like this. I'd like to see the whole unedited video.

If it had been in place it would have stopped the Parkland shooter. No wait.

Well the LV shooter. No wait.

Pulse? Cross referencing and, no.

San Bernardino? Well, no. Hrm.

Aurora? Ugh.

VA Tech? Yes! Wait, no.

Surely Newtown. Argh.

Anyways, let’s get this law put into action.

Maybe the parent of one of the 150 students that is in and out of that classroom every day?

It would greatly reduce the number of illegal guns in the streets of Chicago. How about that one?

Nope. Nobody should have the right to prevent you from defending yourself. The parent has a choice to NOT send their kid to that school.

So the rights of the teacher should be infringed on by the parents for convenience?

I'm thinking that the students in the classroom also have rights. I think the parents of those students have the obligation to protect the rights of their children.

How would that work? Stop and frisk? Nope. Liberals call racism. Go into residences without a warrant ? Racist. You can’t have it both ways.

As a parent I shouldn't have the right to tell a teacher they can't defend themselves if they choose that. One of them is trying to kill whoever a bullet finds. They other is protecting their life and at worst a byproduct of that may be my kid.
