I'd love to see them play in Nashville or Memphis. Close to home.

Actually, the Shmowl Bowl is the latest addition to the bowl game schedule this season.
I think we're up to about 150 bowls now.

Why? Because being bowl eligible is better than not being bowl eligible. Having the opportunity to watch another Tennessee football game is better than not having the opportunity to watch another Tennessee football game. It also means I get to watch at least 3 more wins in the regular season.

That’s like saying “why do I have to run to second base when I can skip it and skip third too and just run home from first base.
Bowl games are just as much for the players.
No one cares that you don’t think smaller bowls are meaningless.
We went 0-freakin 8!last year, so yes making a bowl game is important.
Nothing to see here, move along people.

How about the seniors on the team, many of whom will be playing in there last game ever, but yea, no need to inconvenience you with all your hard work, blood and sweat you have put in being a fan, so lets just forfeit the rest of the games just for you, " Mr Fan"

Jesus are you freaking kidding me? So a team that went 4-8 and 0-8 in SEc last year, was picked by many to maybe win 3 games this year, making a bowl game is no big deal?

Ron White was right. You really cannot fix stupid.

I’m certain the extra practices are good for player development to a certain extent. But it’s been definitively shown that making a Bowl game in no way correlates to an improved team the following year...at least not record-wise.

Not sure if it's been said, but I also think recruits can come in and watch bowl practices. All things aside, the University of Tennessee should play a bowl game every single season. It is unacceptable not to.

Shows you kind of exceeded what most thought of you, a 5 win team and no bowl. All that kind of speaks for itself. This isn't a great team but getting to a bowl game helps get maybe a few more players here that might have went elsewhere. You have something to sell, much like Butch in his first couple years. Won't be no different with Pruitt. By year 3 if it doesn't look the part i'd expect the recruiting to start lagging like Butch's did. Kids aren't dumb, they watch the games. Butch got negative recruited his last two years because he sucked on gameday.

Extra practice. More money for the University. More coverage for recruiting. And a chance to see out beloved Vols in an extra game!
