BJ Coleman (Merged)

Even if Kiffin gets Heaps (not many other uncommitted elite QBs left for the shallow 2010 class), Kiffin may not last to see Heaps' sophomore year. Our SEC schedule (not to mention Oregon coming to town) in 2010 is BRUTAL, even for an experienced SEC-level signal caller.

2009 will be a rebuilding year, but if there is not significant progress in 2010, bye bye Lane. Also, it's no guarantee that Kiffin will even sign a top-flight QB this year. If that is the case, then our rebuilding will continue for several years because we'll have a new coach. Gruden in 2010!!!

Disagreeing with me doesn't make someone an idiot. It makes them wrong, but not necessarily an idiot.

That's more like it. I knew you did not go far. My 4 year old girl wanted me to dye my overalls orange, but I told her they would show too much dirt.

absolutely ridiculous

How bout just accepting that people's opinions on a message board don't AT ALL reflect on one's morale status in the real world.

g8terh8ter....Did I say anything about morales....no...never. Reread if you need to. He is just always a smart a$$ when posting. Sorry if you are into insulting the UT fanbase and UT coaches (Pearl) like he is when posters don't agree with him. But I did not AT ALL mention morale status.

kiffin won't be fired after just 2 seasons. if he is, hamilton really screwed up on the hire

God, what a bunch of whining in this thread. If he believes he can't win the job then that is probably a good sign for the future. The goals that don't include him probably include a competent quarterback for 2010 and something else this year. None of our quarterbacks separated himself from the pack and we have another coming in who might be decent enough. I say: "Oh well."

So saying he's a modern day scrooge doesn't bring one's morale into question. Interesting.

Automatically discount anyone who says Coleman is leaving because its a sinking ship and he realizes Kiffin is a doofus. Also, automatically discount anyone who says Coleman is leaving because he's just a whiny prima donna.

Truth is probably that he wanted some guarantee of playing time, couldn't get it, and so has decided to go somewhere he thinks is a better fit. Doesn't mean or portend anything for UT or for Coleman.

As they say in the barbershops of Atlanta .... Next!

coleman leaving probably had to do with him wanting to be the unquestioned long-term guy here. and honestly, that just wasn't going to happen.

amen

I'm just throwing this out there but is it possible that our staff has a silent commit from a top QB next year and Coleman found out about it and knows he has no chance in hell of starting?

You'd think with all the obvious contempt for BJ on this board that he took your scholly spot to play for the vols... Just don't understand what a 20 year old kid did for so many arm chair qbs to bash him

I actually thought he had a shot to start. Did Kiffin tell him he had no shot or was it just his feeling?

Kiffin is going to bring the run game back into the SEC big time...no greatness is needed at the QB position in his game plan.
