and i can't believe d4h, you haven't hung the moon yet b/c Dobbs was pre season 1st team all sec qb.....

arguing over who's the best pre season running back......i don't even know what to compare that to....suffice to say, it's pointless.

I expect Dobbs to win the heisman and be first team all-american, a lil preseason love don't do much for me.

Hurd is better than Chubb. Nothing crazy about that. Especially given the injury concerns.

Chubb has rushed for more yards and more TDs in 19 games than Hurd has been able to tally in 26 games. And also shared carries with Sony Michel. Sorry, Chubb is actually FAR better than Hurd.

Previously, maybe. As for the future, Chubb's knee is swiss cheese as far as we know.

Absurd. Hurd is a good SEC running back, a VFL and seems to have good character, but he's nowhere near Fournette or Chubb.

disagree. i like Fournette if having to make a choice. but "nowhere near"....

that's a bit extreme. i think it's safe to put all three in the same ball park.

I'm not sure who's better at this point. Yes, Chubb shared a little of the load with Michel, but Hurd shares it more with our offensive guys. That kinda thing happens when you have a running QB and another RB that is good enough to start.

great #'s. and i wonder how Chubb would have done playing on the 1st two teams Hurd did?

just throwing the #'s up and saying "see, told ya" doesn't actually do it.

The list is correct, put Chubb on the 1st team based on how he has performed until he proves he's not the same player due to the injury. It's not up to sports writers to determine how healthy a player is

Why is that absurd? Are you trolling?

I can't think of any aspect of Hurd's game that isn't comparable, if not superior, to Chubb's. What else do you need to see?

Plus, as another poster said, this is a prospectus for 2016, not a recognition of a body of work.

But is their job to prognosticate during the preseason.

Well, we still have our coach and Georgia fired theirs so they havent been all that great apparently.

I don't agree that Chubb is a better back than Hurd. Hurd splits carries with Dobbs and Kamara. Georgia doesn't have a mobile QB. If Hurd and Kamara absorbed the yardage Dobbs put up, then yes, Hurd would have just as superior numbers as Chubb.

He split with some guy named Todd Gurley his freshmen year and some with Sony Michel.

you can't have it both ways.....either his career #'s count, or they don't. pick.

Of course they count, that's my point. You're trying to say Hurd played on worse teams therefore his numbers might have been better and I'm saying the teams weren't that far apart.

Body of work has nothing to do with who will be the better RB in 2016. That's all we're talking about here.

If body of work means nothing, how can you possibly even have a preseason all-SEC team since no one can look into the future to see who's gonna do what? Of course body of work matters.... read the article and the rationale given for why each player was selected......body of work is all this list is based on.

Ok, that's Chubb splitting with one back per year basically, Dobbs has put up 671 and 469 yards in 2015 and 2014 respectively. No Georgia QB has done that. And Georgia had arguably one of the best OL's the past few years, while two years ago our OL gave up ungodly sack numbers and TFL's.

Hurd is just as good as Chubb.

if it's a 2016 pre season rank,......ah, who cares. third time i've said it in this thread, this time, i mean it.

continue on with this discussion. i'll just leave you with this........if chub deserves pre season nod, then so should Chad Kelly.

I think it's fair to say that Hurd has a skill set that is equal to (or better) than Chubb's. If I were drafting running backs I would take Fournette first but would honestly take Hurd before Chubb. It's really impossible and meaningless to speculate how Hurd would do behind UGA's line or how Chubb will respond to his knee injury.

Okay so then we should be ranked second, tied with UGA, for the preseason of we're just going off of last year.

Spot on, can't stand preseason bs anyway. It doesn't matter to me who says what when the slate is clean.
