Big ten cancels football

They won’t play and really what’s the point this season is a write off either way.
There are several points:
  1. Football is fun to play;
  2. Football is fun to watch;
  3. There are traditions to maintain; and
  4. The players need games to improve their skills, exposure, and draft stock.
Not saying they'll play, but I thought you needed some help with your other question since you seem to have become hopelessly nihilistic and depressed. Try meditating. This too shall pass.

It would be interesting in the polls, and would have to cut those teams out. It makes it more difficult if other conferences shuts down though. I want football as well. Let’s get it on.👍
If the SEC is the only P5 conference playing. Then Candy May finally be ranked.....

If so many conferences cancel this year and say only a couple play out their seasons fully, how is the draft going to work then?

Seems like maybe it's not such a done deal in the B10 after all. The coaches, backed by their players (or maybe pushed by their players), are mutinying the supposed vote:

This article says Nebraska still wants to play Frost: Nebraska prepared to play outside Big Ten

In the same article, it mentions Ohio State and Penn State coaches also saying they still want to play.

This article says Harbaugh at Michigan is pushing back: Harbaugh advocates for fall football, cites 'facts'

So that's at least 4 of the 14 head coaches who disagree with the University Presidents who voted to cancel the season.

Sounds like they need to get together and talk some more.

What has been the response to Trevor Lawrence's assertion that players will be more at risk for covid infection if they are sent home vs. playing the season? I think he is absolutely correct. And, a player who contracts the virus on campus will have the best medical care available. A player who contracts the virus at home will be on his own to get treated. Where lies the greater risk for players? Why can't the egghead university administrators see that? Or, is there another agenda they are pushing?

Its gotta be another agenda.

I mean if the powers that be in the media wanna condone mass protests but not let the least likely people to die from COVID (people that wont die from covid) run around with all the safety protocols you could ever ask for then there most certainly is something up.

Its fishy to me that they ignore the statistics on the death rates of young people and people without underlying health issues in general. It is disingenuous and have caused much suffering like financial ruin, mental health and straight up suicide.

Hopefully, it is duly ignored since he has neither a medical degree or, ftm, an undergraduate degree...in anything relevant.

So, at least some of the rankings of teams on Tennessee's new schedule would improve which would make Tennessee's schedule even harder by the numbers.
