Best & Worst Of Every Tennessee Head Coach

How is Fulmers low point not a combination of Wyoming/Pruitt?

Keeping it as a coach I assume, but at the time the Vandy loss was more embarrassing than Wyoming in my opinion. Because Fulmer already knew it was over at that point

A lot of you said Majors 1985 Sugar Bowl against Miami.

Was looking so forward to 86.

#8 in the country, facing a bad Mississippi State team on national tv. Lost that game.(losing 5 of 6 games at one point) Not sure what went wrong that season with such high expectations.

The 2006 and 2007 seasons weren't too bad

Good list, I agree with most of this. I would probably say Army in ‘86 was Majors low point, but it could be USC, that game was brutal.

I would say Memphis for Fulmer.

With Majors, it's a bit hard to say, since we were up and down throughout much of his tenure. The 0-6 start to 1988 also was horrible but the '86 Sugar Bowl definitely was his crowning achievement.

With respect to Dickey, the "Archie Who?" 38-0 massacre knocked us out of an Orange Bowl berth, I believe, vs Notre Dame. Conversely, we led in the 'bama game that year 34-0 before Dickey pulled all of his starters and the tidy bowl boys tacked on a couple of cosmetic touchdowns late. That was the game in which Steve Kiner absolutely chastised the Crimson Tide as he exited the game. He yelled at them, "Look at that old man (Bryant). He looks pitiful. There was a time when those crimson jerseys meant something." I asked Fulmer about that once and he said, "The funny thing is Steve actually said that."

I was at that State game, that was terrible. If I remember correctly, they had an option style offense with a QB that could run. We couldn't stop them.

Wyoming was the week after he was fired. It was a fluke when the team was completely flat and playing with no passion.

Don’t get me wrong, it was embarrassing, but I don’t hold that one to the same level as Memphis 1996 bad.

Just the coaches I have experienced:

Doofus High Point: N/A
Doofus Low Point(s): LSU 2010, Kentucky 2011, Vandy 2012

B*tch High Point: UGA 2016
B*tch Low Point: South Carolina 2016 and the 16 games afterwards

Pruitt High Point: UK 2018
Pruitt Low Point: You already know

Heupel: Nothing but high points so far, all things considered. UGA game last year sucked, but we all expected it.

Dooley’s low point

End of 26 year streak over Kentucky

View attachment 496567
He should have been left in Lexington in the parking lot.
Butch could have stayed in Ohio and Conehead was fine in Alabama.
I am currently concerned about new coach using Phil's prevent offense at the end of the Florida game. You do not have to have BVS to have been worried at the close of the game.
We should have won by 4 scores.
