Best Tennessee team in History

I think this is the best overall Tennessee Team we've ever had. The Elite 8 team was good but this a special group here. I loved the Bernie and Ernie show but again this group is special.:cool:

Ron Widby. He was All American in football, basketball and i think golf. One of the best athletes in Tennessee history.

Started Fall of '75, Reese hall. Graduated in '80. Yes, John Ward would have painted an epic picture with his words. There are some great Youtubes of him calling a couple of UT KY games in the 70s and 80s.

I've actually warmed up to Kessling on basketball. He's really not that bad. And Bertlecamps "MONEY" on 3 points is contagious. I find myself yelling that at the TV even when Dick Vitale is trying to not talk about the game, but the bracket and zion. Seems these TV announcers can get off topic for a 5 minute stretch. Sucks when a guy fouls and not even to they NOT tell you who the foul was on, they don't say how many they have. Just keep talking about the ACC having 3 number one seeds and ignore a Rembrant being painted right before their eyes.

Yes, so we did overlap about a year.

After I got my degree I moved out of state and have (unfortunately) only been back once or twice a year to visit family and friends or see a football game. Have lived in Texas the last 20 years so I have not had access to UT sports on the radio; maybe I could find the UT broadcasts on the internet but have not really tried.

As for the TV announcers, rarely can I tolerate the inane chatter even when it's NOT Dick Vitale, although there are occasional exceptions. But today I had to mute it after only a few minutes because he is so annoying.

Today was so much like the epic second UT-UK game in Knoxville in 1977. That game ended 81-79 and needed a second half 11 point comeback by the Vols. The whole basketball world was focused on that game. Then after all that they still had to play one more game (Vandy) to share the SEC Championship (no tournament then - you won it during the season).

Not to mention we’re still regular season champs if we aren’t cheated out of the LSU game. This fan base loves to crap on their own teams after every loss

Our fans are the worst after we lose. Totally turn on their own. (And people you never see come out of the woodwork-- makes you wonder if they are fans from other teams)
