I don't think it's the age difference (that may be a SMALL part of it), it's the way she's controlling him.

$20 says Belichick's ladyfriend will have a version of the pre-game traditions of Dan Mullen's wife.

I get having a trophy girlfriend, but I don't understand her having a voice within the football complex. I am beginning to suspect he is letting her get exposure for social media influencer-type reasons. I don't think Belichick is enough aware of the stink surrounding his girl. He never seemed the type to keep with media.

I think we all saw that coming. Turns out Belichick is creepier that I thought. Honestly, the problem isn't that he is creepy. Hugh Freeze has never let it stop him. The problem is he looks like a monkey on a string. He doesn't look like he's in charge of anything, nor has he seemed to be taking care of any real business. They just hired former Chicago Bears PR chief Brandon Faber to clean this up. That tells me UNC wants to keep Belichick, but they've got to keep him and her quiet. I would think BB is on thin ice.

This is worse than BB being old. He is giving the impression of being old, like he is not up to the job.

His buyout goes from $10 mil to $1 mil on June 1st so this becomes more possible at that point. But if he resigns or is fired, does his son still become head coach?

Wonder if UNC anticipated this circus when they hired him? I find it mildly interesting from a Drama standpoint, but I'm sure glad this isn't happening in Knoxville. I could see it happening back when we were in the Dooley,Jones,Pruitt desperation years. Who wouldn't want an NFL superbowl winning coach? Do you think the UNC AD, administration and fans regret this hire?

I’m pretty sure the big $ people in Chapel Hill went around Bubba Cunningham (UNC AD) and made this happen. It also sounds like Bubba may be headed towards East Lansing to take that position eventually.

I read BB buyout goes from 10M to 1M on June 1st.

I don't see him coaching a game at UNC. They will send him packing June 1st.

Uh -that's not the way it works lol.

That is BB's buyout. He can write them a $1 million check on June 2 and walk away.

They fire him, they still owe him whatever per his contract

Based on what I have seen, UNC firing him right now would cost them somewhere in the neighborhood of $40 million or more.

Basically, if BB still wants to be coach at UNC he will be. Personally I think he walks away in a few weeks

The UNC Chancellor and at least one big money booster went around him and bowed to political pressure. It has all the makings of a disastrous hire even if there wasn't the distraction of his girlfriend because there were so many cooks in the kitchen.

Apparently they brought in someone to do damage control. I forget who it was . It’s mind blowing that the one time most powerful coach In All of Sports can’t get out of his own way coaching a mid level Power 4 school.
