Saban didn't fire him, Kiffin was ready to be a head coach again. Kiffin did well at Bama, he was the one that expanded their offense to a more balanced attack while keeping a strong running game.

Thought I remembered it right. He did fire him, a week before the NC game 4 years ago!


Kiffin's abrupt exit from Alabama is surprising ... sort of

"Now, a week before Alabamaplays Clemson in the College Football Playoff National Championship Presented by AT&T, Kiffin has been dumped again.

In a stunning move, Crimson Tide coach Nick Saban announced on Monday that former USC and Washington head coach Steve Sarkisian will replace Kiffin as Alabama's offensive coordinator and play-caller for the title game at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida, on Jan. 9."

Things have changed for Kiffin over the past 11 years. I’m not opposed to it, but if we were to bring him back, we are in the catbird seat on a contract with him. He pays is own buyout at Ole Miss and we have him on a very short leash. Contract and buyouts totally in UT’s favor. Given our current situation, however, I doubt we give Kiffin a look. I think our top 3are possibly Josh Heupel at UCF coming with D White, Leipold at Buffalo given White hired him as well or Chadwell.

My friend's sister's cousin, heard from here boyfriend's nephew that Jon gruden was at Calhoun's with General Neyland and Johnny Majors, after the basketball game.

No way we are bringing Kiffy back even if he really does want to come.
I think it will be one of the coaches the new AD has a history with.

If he is advocating himself for the job at UT, he hasn't changed. He's done it before (to us), apparently would be willing to do it again (to Ole Miss). Why wouldn't he do it a 3rd time (us again), if we hired him away from Mississippi?

It's like an ex who who left for one of your buddies, then did it again to another guy later on. Would you give her another chance when she realizes you were better than them in the first place? Have a little dignity. . .

Lane and Monte have both acknowledged that leaving Ktown was the biggest mistake he had made career wise.
