Basilio's Blog is done

Absolutely nothing wrong with the comment! You take a vacation? If so then you have no right to throw stones. Manning has been known to be seen on the strip with a beverage in hand. Darn him for not being in the film room.

I wouldn't take a vacation right after the office building just burnt to the ground.

Spot on.. We said it Monday on #SwainandRucker RT @SBaileyRN: @JaysonSwain Basillo blog broke my heart....say it ain't so J

If I had to describe the problems on that team in one word, based on that blog, it would be discipline.

It ain't all about football. Time off refreshes.... But you need to put the proper time in First. Manning has his priorities in place.

So Basilio has decided to go full on drama queen muck raker...guess he's desparate for an audience. If much of this turns out to be overblown he said/he said than Basilio needs to be run out of town. He's turning into a sad clown.

You're not getting it.

I am getting it perfectly. You think TB's comment means football isn't important to him. Its Christmas break for goodness sake. I suspect he will go home to family like the rest of students at Universities throughout the world. That's why they close dorm rooms. You should give up your vacation days to prove your dedication to your work!

yep millions upon millions of priorities

I really wish people would stop comparing every UT QB to Manning. It's not fair to them or PM

Pansies. Every last one of you. And too many in the locker room to. As soon as we have upperclassmen that will handle that ****, rather than going to the principal's office, we will be a good team. Until we don't, we won't.

The boy (Bray) needs an example to follow Manning (the man) ..would be a good one...meaning Millions and millions later!

You are choosing to go to an extreme to prove your point, while ignoring mine.

There are rumblings that he does not have his priorities in order. Last Saturday is some evidence to that. So are these comments. A lot of times injuries make players cherish the game more. It did not seem to have that affect here for Tyler, which is concerning given the fact that he is a QB, and a leader of a team.

And to your point, many executives often do not take much vacation time.

well he hasnt been able to get anything out of the ad or coaching staff for a good while now.

Basilio is like the town gossip. Everything he writes is likely to have some element of truth in it... but embellished by being passed through people who just like "good stories".

Bray is a great passer. Bray is NOT a great QB. No news there. BUT IMHO, there is not enough of a physical gap between him and Worley for him to be comfortable with that. Worley is smart, level headed, and just needs time to learn and understand his job. Many have him leaving early... I am not sure that it isn't just as possible that he gets passed by Worley or even Peterman (who looks like the real deal in every respect).

Rogers would be a prima donna regardless... but it doesn't help that Bray trusts no one else and Hunter isn't around to remind him that he's a #2 WR right now. There is evidence the guy has attitude issues... but if UT lands Patterson he could quickly find that attitude making him the #3 WR or even #4 behind Arnett (who also looks to have great potential).

I seriously doubt that the situation is even close to as dramatic as Basilio indicates... I have no doubt there are issues in the program (duh) and particularly with those two guys.

Come on. This is the off season coupled with Christmas break. NCAA rules won't allow work during this time since our season is over. TB has issues but this comment is far from the issue.

True or not this is probably the worst possible thing at the worst possible time. Things like this....even from a blogger...will be printed and used on the recruiting trail. Don't care how big a fan you are or how in love with UT a recruit seems to be, this will make kids and parents think long and hard. With the anger on these message boards and the insatiable push to fire any and everyone, Pooles comments are going to be ringing in a lot of ears. Disfunctional...would he do it again or go somewhere else.....geez. Even if this were true, I do wish it hadn't been printed. I wish it could have been handled internally. Nothing...NOTHING good can come of this.

Thanks Basilio. Appreciate the napalm being laid to our recruiting class and national perception. Folks will get what they want. I've seen this disease numerous times over the years. Dooley will get the axe sooner rather than later. Of that I'm certain. Folks are not going to give him the chance after the last 2 years plus the comments written and broadcast over the last several weeks.

I hope Martin and Serrano give us a quality product and that the Lady Vols kick in gear because I have little hope for football for at least the next 5 years. I feel I just got terrible news from my doctor. It just stinks to see my alma mater in this no win situation. The hits just keep coming.

That's the point. He does have issues-and that much is evident now. All the more reason not to make that comment. He wants to take time off, fine, that is understandable. But as your team's QB he should not have said that publicly.

All that comment does is put his other issues in a wrapper and present his team and fans with the perception that he truly might not care. My overall point here was that the comment itself does not help anything. There was never anything to gain from it, other than self-pity.

ever wonder why this guy has to make phone calls to try and find information? you would think a local media member would have most of his info first hand. this cat really trys to make a mountain out of a ant hill.

Unlike TB or Swain and Rucker for that matter... skeeter is a first hand observer.

I don't doubt TB has some maturing to do but this statement is normal to all people. When a job is finished(successful or not) its natural to want to get away for a while.

How do you know that his blog is not credible? Do you have information that disputes what was written? If not then your post is not credible.

"Lovey Smith is on a plane to Knoxville..."

Just one example. Basilio is 2nd tier entertainment/journalist who has to scrap together 2nd and 3rd tier sources and then sensationalize them up to drive listeners to justify add sponsorship.

Basilio cares primarily about Basilio. If he can drive numbers to his show with unsubstantiated sensational rumors that hurt the program than so be it. You notice he tries to sanatize his role by claiming he loves the school and this hurts him alot to do this...nonsense. He's a charlatan.
