So who will be the team leaders next season? Bray said he needed to get away from football for a while. That statement wasn't very Manning like.

A QB cannot say this, under any circumstances.

Wan't very Manning-like, or anything Brady would say, Luck, Barkley, Rodgers, etc.

Folks have wondered if he has "it". Looks like he might not.

Blogs are blogs and VN is VN. You sort through the stuff to get to the truth. Unfortunately the truth is in plain sight and many posters on here would rather be homers than recognize it for what it is. It cannot be fixed if you can't see it. Which is why the team played poorly this year and got progressively worse. It's time to see things for what they are - pathetic. This is as bad as it has ever been in the history of the program. To ignore does not mean it will go away.

You cannot coddle teenagers and expect something good to come from it no matter how talented they are. They either get with your program if you are the head coach or they move on down the line. They get one silver bullet, that's all. When they are allowed to continously screw things up on or off the field they have to told to go away. The same with assistant coaches. If they cannot get it done and the players are not performing as desired or to their level of abilities, especially when there is continous discipline issues, then they need replaced.

Bray, Rogers and some of the others are talented. They are also self-centered morons for acting the way they do.

Bray definitely half-asses it. I'm sure part of the reason the coaches burned Worley's redshirt is to have an actual QB competition. I wouldn't be surprised if Worley ends up being the starter over Bray at some point, because he's got the tools and is from all accounts a very hard worker.

This is my first post here, but eh.

The only obvious attitude problem I saw in this team before the Kentucky game was with the offensive line.

I thought almost the entire offense looked awful, but still I thought the line was the biggest problem.

How does a Tennessee line let a kentucky D spend most of the 3rd and 4th quarter in THEIR quarterbacks face?

Wasn't it Tauren Poole, and the line that were talking about knocking out 2,000 yards rushing this season? So who is it that was concerned with numbers?

Since the offense went wide open with the shift to Bray at QB last year, I've seen a frustrated running back that might be upset about losing carries.

I'm hoping that Lane has the desire to get the best he possibly can out of however many carries he gets next season. And I'm hoping to see an offensive line that has more pride in their gut than to let KENTUCKY beat their QB up.

The attitude starts on the line, not with skill players. So far these kids on the line don't seem so tough but everyone wants to get after everyone else.

It doesn't make sense!

Yeah i know.... there just seems to be to much coming out right now about the program not to put a little validity in it. Where there is smoke.....

but we can see where it's coming from - a local DB calling players and giving advice that the staff does not appreciate, couple of NFL player not happy with the visitation rules, one of the least credible Knoxville media people blowing things up, etc.

there definitely may be issues but the sources are pretty weak/biased

Amen brother. Reminded me of Ricky Williams. I think they may have a lot in common.

Hubbs hinted that the article has some relevance and it is not completely inaccurate.
If so, DD needs to sort this out. If the players are disrespecting the coaches, the players need to be ran till they puke, or they just need to find another team.

I have spent my entire life being a member of teams either as a player or as a coach(as high as D1). I have coached championship teams as well teams that have under achieved. I can tell everyone here to relax that every team has issues. Even this years LSU/BAMA have players that don't have the work ethic they should. They have guys that cuss during blow ups with coaches. ALL TEAMS have issues. Losing makes people point fingers while winning keeps those issues behind closed doors. Case in point after Vandy we heard how the team rallied around their leader TB and now we are on the other side. Relax and stop getting consumed by what this means for the future of the program. It means nothing.

Bray and Da rick do have their issues and if they continue to go unchecked it will only feaster. Will they become as cancerous to DD as Troy Fleming/Kelly Washington did to Fulmer? Only time will tell. I'm not saying Tony's blog isn't hyped but the theme has merit.

I love how one week after a win vs. Vandy, Bray is touted for his leadership and will to make sure the seniors got a win on senior day. Now after a loss, those same people somehow completely change their tune and go to the opposite end of the spectrum.

Like most of the media-- the truth is sensationalized to maximize views. It's obvious that Bray makes up plays on the fly-- he's said as much in interviews, when he talks about how they just go out and play "backyard ball." And Dooley has commented numerous times on Bray's effort and his needing to study the game. Da'Rick has gone off on the sidelines in front of the cameras, so there's truth there as well. And no question Bray and Da'Rick have their own thing going on. It's called chemistry when it works and chastised when it doesn't. The media is blowing it out of proportion, but it's clear that we have control issues and problems that need to be addressed and fixed. If individual players really do think they're above the team, then perhaps the coaches should post a big picture of Janzen in the locker room.

What's most concerning to me is that the team didn't show up to play Saturday. Not playing to win, because some considered the stakes too low is unacceptable. Players don't get to make those decisions. They either give their all every week or they should sit until they feel they can.

Based on my observations of this team, I would bet that the blog is closer to the truth than not.

There clearly are serious in-house issues running through the program. it is going to take a coach with real balls (like the real Saban) to get control of this thing. Dooley is showing more and more to be a pansy. I don't think he ever will regain control of the players' respect, and for that reason, I have to bet that he will never have any significant success as the head football coach at Tennessee.

Watching this team progress over the past two years (not). This article, I hate to say, is on the money. Maybe someone will do something about it instead of hiding their head in the sand. Play players who want to play bench the bad attitude. We need a culture change..WINNERS!..... As a previous coach,, this is the worst cancer of any team.

Yeah I could just imagine the reaction if Dooley decided to bench Bray and Hunter for the first 3 games last year. I'm sure everyone would've loved Dooley even more.

Well, at that point Bray hadn't come out and said something no QB/leader should ever say:that he needs to get away from football.

Funny, he was away from football while injured. That quote was disturbing if he is going to lead this team.

Seems mostly true. Hell Bray said he wanted to get away from football for a month after the Kentucky game. He doesn't care.

Its real simple folks, DD needs to sit the team down and tell them either they are committed to do things his way at 100% of their ability, or they can hit the door period. There is not one player or coach for that matter, bigger than the team.

I look for a very physical off season as well as spring practice.
