BART Harris walk on

Pretty sure the current Heisman winner was a walk on.

And therefore we should stop recruiting QBs altogether and just have open tryouts every Spring, because hey, the next Baker Mayfield is probably on our campus right now. Lol

I think we’re up to 8 now. It’s a VN favorite - bring up the exception to counter a logical and obvious truth and get likes along the way.

Thre were only 2 after MBRO post, now 3.

I set the o/u at 5 going forward.

If UT is forced to play a walk on QB, then we have huge problems.

We were one snap away from having to last year and it wasn't because of talent. Exactly why the fans saying we don't need a QB in this class are absolutely clueless. He definitely looks better than the other walk on options we have but still need a scholarship QB. But don't forget the current Heisman Trophy winner was a former Walk On so anything is possible.

I wonder how many people actually read the thread before posting "Mayfield"
I mean it's been posted here probably 12 times already

Nope I just posted it and didn't read the whole thing nor will I. Great thing is it's an option not mandatory so I chose option. Mayfield, Mayfield, Mayfield,Mayfield!!

Any of these kids that give us a sniff and most on here get giddy. Kids a walk-on. Look at his offer list. And don't repeat for the millionth time about Mayfield. He's one and in never again most likely.

Granted, the current Heisman was a walk-on but ......

I'd rather take my chances on a 5*.

At any rate, welcome to UT Bart!!

If this kid walked on in Gainesville their forums wouldn't reflect this much negativity. Logic implies we can only win with this QB. UT isn't investing a thing to start with so what's the big deal? I had never heard of M. Bajakian, M.DeBord, or T.Helton before they got to UT. They get paid to make decisions "based on performance". Let them do their jobs. Welcome to Big Orange Country Mr. Harris ! B. Mayfield says Hi!

Please see baker mayfield. Our problem now is we had a coaching staff that only recruited for stars, and not how they fit the system and played the game. That’s why we have a roster that looks good in the star column, but not so much on the field play column.

Baker Mayfield was just seen with Jon Gruden checking out the trees on Cumberland Ave...The blind man told me this, so it must be true.

So now every walk on will be a Hiesman.

Don't be stupid. He only said don't just a player by his title. 3*. 4*. 5*. Walk-on. At the end of the day don't mean squat. Just means how much visibility they had during HS. All that was said, was don't condemn him being a walk-on, cause there have been walk-ons that have been very successful. And, it's Heisman.

Not always the case. Baker Mayfield that plays for Oklahoma was a walk-on. Sometimes guys just fly under the radar. Mayfield is listed as 6' 1" tall. This kid is 6' 4" tall. (We will need a taller QB if we get some of these giants CJP is recruiting!)He could develop to be the real deal. We aren't out anything since he is a PWO. I welcome him being a walk-on. I love to watch these guys. They try very hard to earn a scholarship. You gotta love it.

Watch his game film...
