BART Harris walk on

If this kid walked on in Gainesville their forums wouldn't reflect this much negativity. Logic implies we can only win with this QB. UT isn't investing a thing to start with so what's the big deal? I had never heard of M. Bajakian, M.DeBord, or T.Helton before they got to UT. They get paid to make decisions "based on performance". Let them do their jobs. Welcome to Big Orange Country Mr. Harris ! B. Mayfield says Hi!

AGREED! Let's enjoy watching these guys develop instead of claiming "the sky is falling" because a PWO wants to play at Tennessee! LET"S WELCOME THIS YOUNG MAN!

Yet, not out of the question.

Surely not out of the question but the odds aren't really in his favor. People are constantly countering with Mayfield to defend their argument. Should the doubters counter with a list of walk ons who never panned out?

Hail, I hope we have 100 PWO's. Most won't pan out but some might. Welcome these boys, because they will put in as much (if not more) time into being a VFL as the 4* recruits will. It's not costing us a scholarship or anything.

If so, I would need typing room to add to that list of walk-ons that didn't pan out, the number of 4 and 5 stars who tanked as well. Titles and rankings are fine...until the competition and live action starts. Stars don't equate to grit and determination.

There are numerous athletes capable of playing at this level who just don't get the exposure in HS due to the size or location of their HS and they remain largely under the radar. Our HS is in a hollar on the plateau of about 480 kids, with maybe 30 playing football in a good year. And they play both ways. Got one going to APSU that I would put up against anyone. One getting looks by Illinois. He is a greek warrior by physical standards. Neither probably even are within miles of a Rivals ranking, but I would put them up against anyone head to head on grit, strength, and determination.

Don't be stupid. He only said don't just a player by his title. 3*. 4*. 5*. Walk-on. At the end of the day don't mean squat. Just means how much visibility they had during HS. All that was said, was don't condemn him being a walk-on, cause there have been walk-ons that have been very successful. And, it's Heisman.

At the end of the day stars don’t mean squat? Lol, go look at the top 5 recruiting classes from the last 10 years and tell me why those teams are winning 10 or more games almost every year. I can assure you they aren’t doing it with walk ons

Take any one of those top 5 classes and rosters and drop them in a different coaching staff and see what they accomplish. Take our roster of highly ranked recruits from last few years and drop them in Bamas staff and see if they under perform. Stars only mean squat if the staff knows what to do with them.

you can take any power 5 roster and drop them in one of the top 5 coaching staffs and have an infinitely better team without changing the number of stars in your roster, and compete at a much higher level.

You can take our HS QB from last year, whose best look was a full ride at Cumberland University for football and baseball, and put him with a strong HS staff, and he would have been FCS level. Stars don't equate to championships, or opportunities for championships without coaching. That's the smoking mirror. The reasons the Bama's and Clemson's of the world win is because the 5 stars go to where the coaching is. Those same 5 stars are mediocre players at Kansas and their staff.

I'm not naive. i know a player must first have talent. But, not all 5 star Rivals pan out to be 5 star players. they tank all too often. It's a crap shoot.

Little to no scholarship offers for a future top 5 draft pick at Wyoming.

☠️☠️☠️

As Wyoming fans heard it, he wasn't recruited, but Wyo gave him his shot. He can play a little.

Josh Allen, for those who don't know. Helped his primary WR, TE, and RB jump to NFL last draft, which hurt his numbers this year.

Josh Allen is trash and will be a huge bust.

Stop bringing up Mayfield. The only reason he was a wo was his father. He had better offers than this kid.

No need to trash our pwo though.

He's got to be the best player to ever come out of Belton (MO) High. My high school used to annihilate them every year.

Hope that it works out for him enough to earn a Scholly...love those videos where the coach announces it!

Get in line behind the other 80 people in this thread who’ve made this completely irrelevant point

Not exactly irrelevant. Just refuting that Harris sucks because he's a WO and not a 5*. Using BM, who had possibly worse offers than BH, as an example of what a WO can do in the right system and opportunity.
