Seriously Nerd, this seems to be a problem with a lot of people I know. A good start is using a decent rice, but with that said, there are a couple of things I will share.

Use a large pan instead of a pot, it gives the rice more space.

Put the rice in the pan and add the boiling water or stock instead of the other way around. Adding the rice to the water first needs to be stirred. Turn the heat on low/simmer whatever your stove dial has.

Add salt. A lot of people hate to add salt to anything, but salt will help absorb moisture.

Cover it and leave it alone. Stir it one time with a fork between the beginning and ending cook time.

Take it off the stove and remove the cover and replace it with a towel (that helps absorb unneeded moisture.

Fluff it with a fork.

Hope that helps.

Great stuff. Thanks!

Do I still have to sleep with you?

I was posting that while you posted yours. So, no. Although there are some that wish I was gay, I'm not, and no one has to sleep with me....a few lucky ones get to. :)

This is how I normally make my brown rice, except I brown the rice first in a little butter than add the stock. What rice do you prefer (jasmine, brown, sushi etc)?

Post me a good interesting recipe to try this week. Crabcakes are up for tuesday night, ribs for thursday. Prolly couscous/brown rice with garlic chicken and veggies for monday. I need to fill in a couple nights lol

Haha. Kat laughed at post 1363.

Gotta go walk Behr. I'll ponder this task while I'm out.

Speaking of Behr. I put some contact lenses in his eyes the other day that had pictures of cats in them. I took one out and he ran around in circles.

Non-denominational (protestant). Growing up I was jealous of baptists and catholics cause I didn't have a "kind" of church. lol When I said "Christian" they'd say "everybody's Christian. What KIND do you go to?"

Lol. Kids are funny. One of my 4 years old told me this morning that if Jesus drove us around in our cars we would probably have to fly in the air
