Any good recipies for tossed salad??
Not sure if serious, because...
that's a tough one, obviously because all of the options and personal likes and dislikes. A starter salad or a meal (lunch, light dinner)?
One of my favorites to make and eat is....
A bag of fresh Arugula and Spinach mix with a bag of Spring mix. Toss with Wishbone Italian dressing (much more convenient than making it and it's good)
Roasted red peppers. I like to make my own but the ones in the jar will work.
Green Queen Ann olives cut in half.
Baby white Asparagus, sauteed in olive oil and fresh garlic.
Boiled Egg cut in half.
Red onion cut in about 1" chunks.
Marinate large "steak cut" Portabello mushrooms in olive oil salt and pepper while you're prepping the rest. 15-20 minutes.
Grilling the mushrooms are the best but you can saute them if the grill is not an option or too much trouble.
After you grill or saute the mushrooms, put a nice slice of tomato on top and then some blue cheese crumbles.
Bake them in the oven at 400 until the cheese is golden brown 10-15 minutes.
Cut the mushrooms in quarters.
I suggest making the salad then putting the mix in individual bowls and then put the shrooms on.
Toasted Italian bread with Parmesan cheese is a nice compliment.
Sounds like a lot of trouble but it's really not once you have all of the ingredients.
