Nope, that's a false dichotomy.
Dabo is a perfect example that a coach can be successful and affable.
Yup. A real coach (leader) inspires and motivates. They take marginal players and get the most out if them.
Running them off doesn't.
We may wanna slow our roll a little around here before we run off 1/2 the team. There is no guarantee that we're replacing them with anyone better.

There's nothing wrong with recognizing that some guys just don't fit. The greater the contrast between the incoming and outgoing coach, the more of those guys there's going to be.
What is more ethical? "Inspiring" them to hang around and work out with the scout team or being honest with them and allowing them to transfer to a program that represents more opportunity?
A "real" leader also very clearly defines the standards and expectations of those he or she is leading, and if those expectations are not met, he or she addresses that in a way that those remaining understand the consequences of not meeting expectations.
There's not a leader on the planet that walks in and gets EVERYONE on board. The smart ones understand that getting those who are not out of the picture as quickly as possible is an important part of the process.
Fair enough, but in my defense, I had just read another post by you in another thread and you seemed pretty upset.
Sorry.
I'm tired of fans acting like they don't care. I care. It won't stop me from keeping high expectations.
CJP&S is being put to task. Make this year's team a winner. We will see how good a coach he is with Butch's players. They were recruited for a different offense and defense.
I don't blame a player for leaving if they have been told they aren't a match and will most like never see the field except maybe on special teams. So many still have NFL expectations that aren't the best fit for our new schemes. Let them go and get something on tape.
If it's lack of effort. "Give all", is the standard.
That's easy for a fan to say.
I've watched it 3 times and can't tell who quit. Maybe the 4th time I'll notice. It's on now.
Let Pruitt clean house. Smart had to do it at UGA when he got there and I am sure Dawg fans are happy with the end result.
