Any word from practice on QB reps

Good Lord people. JG will start but other QBs will play. And it really doesnt matter who is under center this week.

Anything Pruitt says about the QB situation should go in one ear and out the other.

JG is simply Pruitt’s puppet.

Easy to say that. But ignoring reality is really hard to do and the reality is UT doesnt have the OL or the QB to compete with Bama and EVERYONE on the team knows its true. Awfully hard to coach around something that is painfully obvious.

I'm all for getting HB valuable game experience, but if it comes down to our OL failing and the QB getting a serious injury, I'd protect HB for the future. Let someone else take the injury.
Well my friend if every team had those same feelings then there would never be an upset in sports. All I'm saying players need to always have the belief that when they step on the field they have a chance to win. Don't defeat yourself before you even play.

Also, I think part of our problem on offense is that Pruitt is so anal about protecting the ball. I believe in ball security but I do not believe in trying to prevent turnovers, if that makes sense. To beat a great defense your QB has to be able to throw into tight windows. I think our QBs are coached to $h!& their pants when they are tight windows. Maurer has that confidence to turn it loose. I like that.
To be fair, JG looked pretty confident turning loose on back to back pick 6’s, Just sayin.
GBO!!

I agree. This is why I'm confused as to why he would continue to play the walking turnover in JG.

Given that its Bama, I dont really have a problem with starting JG to see what kinda day its gonna be, and keep all options open thereafter.

But if JG comes out, he stays out.

I have spoken to staff memeber and I don't care whats said in the media I know the truth. Coach speak is stupid to me but I guess guys don't want to speak against the boss or that's understood that it doesn't happen, which I like Lmao. They know we have no chance with JG, and as a good staff does you just kp the bs in house. One day the fans will rip out the paper sacks and Boos though and its gonna hurt them really bad on TV and recruiting. So like I told a coach yesterday whats the difference between the same mistake occurring from a true/ rs freshman and a 5th yr senior, NOT a damn thang so play the younger guys and gv them a chance to find a rhythm or groove. This is why I loved Spurrier. The best qb played if he couldn't get it done nexxxxxxxt.
Reading between the lines... are you suggesting JG will start Saturday?

Interesting due to the fact that Pruitt himself said in his presser Monday that he was making no decisions and that practice this week would determine if changes are made.

I think it's really the only move he can make. The others haven't gotten the reps and a few days isn't enough time for the backups to get comfortable. Think JG starts. If he does well, they roll with him. If not, I think he will give reps to the other QBs that are able to play after Bama has a comfortable lead and has called off the dogs.

Let's face it, we aren't going to beat Bama. Focus on what's best for the rest of the season. Another Peterman debacle isn't what we need right now.
