Devrin is a great kid and worked his butt off for the big orange. He did the most with what he had to work with.

Good luck to him in the future!

He's stuck at the 15 yard line. I kidd, I kidd.

I would like him back to help out with depth at RB.

Butch said in Mondays interview that he expects everyone back for UK game except the obvious who have already been stated to be out for season..

I would assume that includes DY

I agree. The kid plays with heart and passion for his Vols. Always love to see our local kids wear the orange. He is definitely a VFL!!

I thought I read where he would be out the rest of the regular season, but not totally sure.

Can we just keep it real in the thread for once? Devrin was not a good football player. Four years later and he has less than 200 yards rushing, and less than 150 receiving. Say what you want about him working his butt off, but it didn't help him get in the starting lineup.

After editing this is what you post? He is obviously a better player than you are a poster! Many never see the field; that alone makes him at least a good football player.

To play D1 makes you a really good football player. To post something stupid makes you what? Yep, just stupid.

Not to declare his career over, but I kinda feel sorry for him. He came in a suffered an early injury during workouts that hampered his freshman year. Paired with several position changes, he was never able to get comfortable at one spot.

Criticize his lack of big plays as a Vol all you want. I'm no defender, but fans tend to forget the return situation before he arrived. We couldn't field a punt to save our lives. Teams would gain most of their yards on muffed points during that period.

Most of all, he's a Vol. The way some of you criticize, you would think this guy suited up for the Tide.

He was never here to be a running back but as a return specialist. I think on the whole he did that job as well could be expected considering the level of talent of the team on a whole.

Stay in Texas.

He was the starting kick returner his entire career when healthy.

The credit belongs to the man in the arena....

Pretty sure there aren't a lot of posters who've ever been in the "arena"

Keeping it "real" as an anonymous poster, critiquing the performance of a player who has already reached a level that most people never will, at anything.

I don't remember him ever having much space to operate in. I thought that he looked pretty quick.

I agree with Brawler. DY should thank his lucky stars that he got the opportunity to play for the Vols. He and Cody Blanc were no better than lots of kids in the Knoxville area, but somehow, someway managed to coax a scholarship from UT. I'm not being mean but it's true. He was low hanging fruit signed by Dooley that just hung around. We don't need to sign any more local products that are Tusculum level players.

I don't understand thanking kids for their "sacrifice". I'm sorry but my boys would have walked to Knoxville to play for the vols. It's not like these kids went off to war or joined the armed services. They got very lucky with life's opportunities.
