And everyone knew it was a joke. And it was funny. The fact that he felt the need to apologize it's what's wrong with the current "gotcha" climate.

I agree completely with your point about the current climate but I also believe he holds himself to a high standard and knew immediately he fell below it.

I do think AC is one of the better journalists even though I don't agree with his political stances. But...he's generally on point with his questions. And it takes a lot for him to get on air and actually apologize.

Imagine Bill O'Reilly getting on the air and apologizing for nasty remarks he made. Can you say "when hell froze over"?

I hate the fact AC is trapped at a network like CNN that's basically destroying itself from within right now, but giving him his due, he is a decent journalist.
