You're right I should have included this. Here is the Tennessee code:
39-13-503. Rape.
(a) Rape is unlawful sexual penetration of a victim by the defendant or of the defendant by a victim accompanied by any of the following circumstances:
(1) Force or coercion is used to accomplish the act;
(2) The sexual penetration is accomplished without the consent of the victim and the defendant knows or has reason to know at the time of the penetration that the victim did not consent;
(3) The defendant knows or has reason to know that the victim is mentally defective, mentally incapacitated or physically helpless;
Can't argue against the FACTS people. I believe the focus of this should be on what exactly these kids are being taught. For women it seems they are taught more on how to react if it happens, and it seems athletes aren't taught much outside of "well I'm on TV and an athlete so of course she wants me."
I fully believe that if these a hole athletes weren't allowed to be recruited until they were seniors, and they were forced to take public responsibility courses, there would be less entitlement. On the women's side, they need to be taught what to do if it happens, but more importantly how to avoid it. Personally, I blame very poor situational awareness and lack of education.
