Don’t know if it will be found to be true, but I read this morning that maintenance had been performed on that left engine 2 hours prior to the flight.

For all the MAGA cultists happy about the shutdown, would like to point out that FAA air traffic controllers are currently working without pay.

Already a high stress, important government job where they're literally forced to work overtime because nobody wants this job, they now get no paycheck.

Pretty sure this is a formula for disaster.

So tell Chuck to open the Government already. It was blamed on the Rs last time they were in the minority and pulled the same type of stunt. Now it's squarely on the Ds to open the Government. Stop blaming MAGA and start blaming the Dems who have already owned up to being responsible for the shutdown to gain leverage.

Rollins’s review has found EBT cards that have been carrying balances of more than $10,000. It found cards that haven’t been used in years. It found cards issued to people who never existed.

Twenty-nine states have complied with the data request so far, and it has already found “thousands and thousands of illegal uses of the EBT card,” Rollins told reporters. Since they began reviewing this information, “we’ve got almost 700,000 people moved off,” she said, “and we’ve arrested about 118 people.”

“I think this has brought an appropriate focus,” McClenahan says, adding that Rollins’s findings are only from the states that have complied with her request, which are mainly red states. Democratic-run states such as New York, California, and Illinois have so far refused, filing lawsuits to avoid complying.

In 1996, he notes, President Bill Clinton signed changes that specified non-citizens are not eligible for program benefits. It was never enforced.

“People are just kept on the program for years and they keep rolling these balances up, whether they’re using the card or not. [The government] is supposed to expunge unused benefits after nine months, but if all you do is buy a stick of gum once every nine months, your balance stays on your card. Even if you are no longer on SNAP, that card is still good,” McClenahan tells Eggers.

I hear what you are saying about hypocrisy here, Louder, but if the Rs were truly for eliminating the filibuster, it would be eliminated. They have the votes. They haven’t done it.

There is no maybe here. I can tell you with my over 26,000 total flight hours of experience that there is nothing that ATC could have done to either cause or prevent this. Nothing.. Zilch. Nada. To insinuate otherwise is using the current shutdown to politicize this. It's actually quite insulting to ATC

The Socialists will eliminate it the next time they are in power anyway, so might as well. Care to make a wager? $1000 to your favorite charity?

Don't care. They choose to work for the government.

With that said, I think it is a violation of the employees and service members to demand labor without compensation. Would be very simple to make sure they remain paid and prevent them from functioning as political pawns.
