Ament will improve

No offense but pump fakes and new moves ain't his problem. Kid hasn't grown into his frame yet. He's too thin and lacks the physicality and strength to really compete against teams with mature length like Illinois and some of the teams in this league. He's just not physically or mentally ready yet. And that's a problem for us.

Not sure what Barnes was thinking when he went all in on this kid instead of taking a proven entity like Gillespie's mate from Maryland. Maybe it was an ego thing? Just wanted to be associated with KD II? If we think Ament is struggling now, just wait until conference play starts and he hits that freshman wall. Heck, I expected everyone to hit the Barnes wall playing the type of defense he demands, but it doesn't look like that will be a problem for this years team. They're no where near Barne's level defensively. Not sure this bunch has that in them to be honest.
Where have you been? 😯🤣🤣🤣

Not sure how in the world those three refs could watch the replay of that clearly intentional elbow to Boswell face ( as crowd was howling for flagrant 2 and ejection) and say it was a only a flagrant 1. Not a basketball play and a intentional shot to head and neck area.

What was the score at that point? Vegas needs spreads to not get out of hand. Plus there were few games on and TV needs close games for ratings.

He is gaining confidence and peaking at the right time. Truly an amazing leap of improvement since the beginning of the season.

I thought he started the season confidently before he hit a wall in mid December. He was SEC Freshman of the Week I believe the first 2 weeks in a row and was averaging around 20. Things changed when the competition increased but now he has hit his stride and it's fantastic to watch. You can just see that he realizes now that he is the best player on the court and it's his responsibility to attack instead of deferring, yet he still does that unselfishly.

I'm pretty good size (6'2, 230ish) and always played very physically. My teenage kids take after their mom and are tiny. I tell them all the time that being physical is a mentality and Nate is providing me the perfect example when we watch games. My son has taken notice of how Ament has gone from being timid to looking for contact and playing through it despite little to no change in his frame over the last month.

This version of Nate Ament has a chance to be the best player in this draft if he stays aggressive and puts on 25-35 pounds over the next 4-5 years. He may or may not ever be as good a shooter as Durant (doubtful) but I do think he can be more of an all-around 3 level scorer who can play the 2-4 positions and be a much better defender and rebounder than Durant due to the extra size he will carry.

Sky is the limit.

Yep. He's very laid back and yeah....passive. No dog in the kid. Barnes got infatuated with what he thought was KD II and made an impulse buy. I'm sure if he had a redo, he'd spend what it took to get Rice. Won't surprise me if this might be the trigger that pushes Barnes into retirement.
Incredibly, this isn’t even in your top 5 worst takes in this thread alone.
