Alvin Kamara Appreciation Thread (merged)

Don't you have to possess at some point to use?

Possessing and using is not theft. Possessing and using only affects that individual.

People addicted to drugs and who can't afford their addiction, pawn stolen property for dope all the time.
Not all. Just like any other drug, you have functional addicts and those that can't control their habit. I have an uncle that isn't a thief, but supports his habit by doing little odd jobs and working under the table...

Oh wait, he's breaking the law by working under the table, also.

One or two are brain dead ... maybe. But most are actually protesting an issue they care about.

However,

As far as myself, and evidently hundreds of thousands of others, are concerned, we believe it's NOT the flag and it's NOT the anthem being disrespected, but it's the individual soldiers sacrifices from the founding of this nation to this day; some giving all. Those who by a bunch of raggedy ass ball players choosing to protest during the flag and anthem ceremony are basically pissing on the graves of all the heros who gave up their lives for their freedom to protest during the ceremony.

Disagree with me if you want. That's just one of the things freedom in America is about. So, I don't care. That's fine, go ahead and disagree. But I say, good men and women died for your right to disagree. When the ceremony that honors their sacrifice is performed, get your ass up and acknowledge them.

Just because you can take a knee, or sit, doesn't mean you should, or your doing it is right.

This country went 150+ years without a recognized national anthem. This is only a fairly recent phenomenon.

Wow, this thread went all to hell.

Christmas cleats ain't no joke.

Yeah, I thought it was cool how he laughed it off and made it charitable, which was the point of the post. Should have known it would turn this way and posted it in the political forum to begin with.

Who cares?

Theft is bad, doesn't matter whether it was because of drugs or not.

If there's possession, but no theft, then nothing harmful has happened to justify prison time.

Both are misdemeanor crimes

Why is one worse than another? Who gets to make that decision? You think theft is bad, but the thief doesn't think it's bad

The thief isn't physically hurting you. Property can be replaced. Why should they be put in jail? He doesn't believe he did anything wrong

Being a thief or killer is universally recognized by all civilized races, religions and cultures as a crime.

There is no uniform recognition of what drugs are and are not prohibited.

So you think it's ok to have people running around, high on heroin, crack, and meth?

Who will support these people?

Should taxpayers be subjected to supporting these habits? If they can't hold a job, where does the money come from to pay for drugs? By stealing

These overdoses also affect the taxpayer by higher costs in healthcare, equipment for First Responders, etc

It's more to it than someone's choice to do with there body what they want. It has a trickle down effect

This country seems to have no problem with alcohol being legal and I would bet it has destroyed more lives than the illegal drugs.
We are a country built on hypocrisy.
