All Time NBA Players Thread - No Jordan vs. Lebron Debate Allowed

I meant Dirk second team over Durant

It's a tough call in a vacuum, but they didn't pick any two forwards on each team, it's specifically a PF and an SF. Dirk isn't really a small forward at all.

And the position-specific nature of it is also why Garnett didn't make it and D12 did. If it's positionless, it probably goes something like this:

1st team unchanged

2nd team:
Dirk
KD
Giannis
Shaq
Wade/Kawhi/CP3

3rd team:
Wade/Kawhi/CP3
Garnett
Nash
Harden

And hell, maybe crazy but I'd personally rather see Ray Allen there than Harden. He's not an MVP, and some of his best years were in the 90s, but he's a player I'd rather have and has multiple titles and is one of the few guys ever who was good right away, became a superstar, and then transitioned to a great role player who was happy with his role. At no point in his career was he not contributing to winning.

this is him telling the stat guy in slc the last pass counted for two assists

Stockton's home/road splits were pretty normal in terms of how disparate they were, but yeah, hone town statisticians love to give you assists when they can.

Steals should be impossible to fake, tho

Yeah, Drexler's steal numbers may have been accurate. Who knows how many steals MJ was actually getting?

Still probably a lot, but I think that the scorers definitely beefed up stats. Same thing's probably happened to every superstar in the NBA, ever.

The onky stats you can kinda fudge with are rebounds and assists.

Every game is on TV now. You will not get away with steals/turnovers counts that don't add up. Too easy to catch

Shawn Kemp got 30 days of electronic home monitoring, one year of community custody, and 240 hours of community service for his role in the 2023 Tacoma shooting.

he was facing 90 days in jail

I worked with a guy whose Dad was rehab roommates with SK 20+ years ago. Sadly, guy can't quite figure out life.

He was my favorite player for a couple years

i gotta say, sentencing him to community service is just him doing what he does all the time anyway. I don't think there was ever any way a court in that state is gonna come down hard on him, he's just so visible in the community

The Suns traded their pick for Luol Deng for Quentin Richardson then went too cheap to resign joe Johnson because they were paying Richardson instead of haabing deng on a rookie contract

they could have had
Steve Nash, Joe Johnson ,Luol Deng, Shawn Marion, Amare Stoudemire

It's the right move not to pay Joe Johnson, IMO. Also, they got Boris Diaw in the trade who was one of their 3 best playoff performers in their deepest run.

They gave up the Deng and Rondo picks in back to back drafts to save money. If that happened today, an owner would be paraded through the streets in handcuffs. If they had drafted Deng and did the Johnson trade, I could defend it.

Diaw was a nice player for them. They needed Johnson more.

I don't believe in Joe Johnson. If he is one of your key/highest paid players, you're guaranteed a 1st or 2nd round exit.

As an asset, I'd rather have JJ so I can trade him but if I have a good team, give me Diaw so I win more.

Well sure. When he's your best player and getting 20 something shots a game.

If you have Steve Nash and Amar'e Stoudemire, his negatives are not as strong.

Also, they made the Western Finals in 05' with Johnson, who had a broken face and could have won the title.

They were 1-1 with Dallas and closed out the series in 6 without Joe Johnson to get to the WCF.

Joe Johnson has a bag and he can shoot, but Nash could get offense out of far lesser weapons and believe they needed more D and size. They replaced Q and JJ with Raja Bell at the 2 + a variety of bench minutes the next year, and went back to the WCF.
