All things Muschamp (merged)

They're apparently grooming his for the job slowly

Last year he got the keys to the recruiting trail

This year he's running the practices

Next year he's going to get way more involved with the team as a whole on gameday not just the defense

Then apparently in 2012 the team is his and Brown is stepping down and becoming the AD

Under those cicrumstances I could understand him staying at Texas, it would a better situation than having to build TN in the competitive SEC.

That's still a rehash of the quote from yesterday through a school spokesman.... has anyone got him quoted directly?

Nope! Everyone is just taking this story as the gospel and running with it, with the exception of Joe Schad. I don't think we are done with this deal yet. I think we would have heard an no from Muschamp himself in a very public manner if he wasn't still on the hook.

He wouldn't even really be building the program. He would be preparing for the Texas job which is exactly where he would be going in 2-3 years when Brown resigns. I don't understand people wanting Muschamp as he rejected the offer due to the clause saying he couldn't leave if the Texas job opened. He wants to coach at Texas, he's going to get the opportunity to coach at Texas, and he's going to leave wherever he is for the job at Texas. Muschamp to the Vol's would just be a setback in a few years when he bolts for Austin.

I think we will have our next head coach by tonight. It will probably be calhoun sadly. But I say throw a bunch of money Stoops way and see what happens.

I love this stuff...

keeps you glued to the computer for days...

it's going to get interesting today folks...hold on tight.

I sincerely hope you've heard something credible. "Interesting" is not among the top 10 words I'd use to describe where this thing seems to be headed right now, at least to those of us with no invisible friends whispering in our ears.

Fortunately, Muschamp has the chance to tell the Big 3 (i.e. Hammy, et al), "No" to their faces, because they're meeting this AM, likely, as I am typing this.

Perhaps this shows the statement which the Texas media rushed to release last night in an entirely different light. He was telling the truth when he said he planned to stay at Texas. When he said it.

I am certain that he will tell them, "No." and they'll be on their way to the next candidate.

Or not.

My source on this is a wholly unreliable person who is poorly connected to any person within the UTAD. He is a known liar, and likely, I am only putting this out there as part of some elaborate ruse. I would encourage you to completely ignore this information. In fact, don't even read it.

Or not.

Boom M'Fers. Boom.

w.t.f?

i kind of laughed, in a confused sort of way.

Im already ready for this to be over. Let MH make his horrible selection, turn UT into South Carolina, and in three years, give the program another reboot.

Ive had a stressful month...this isn't helping.

Tennessee just needs to hire Muschamp or Smart and get it over with. Some of these other coaches that run gimmick offenses are just going to piss the fans off worse than the ones who are against Muschamp

AD Philip Fulmer
HC Will Muchamp/Kirby Smart
OC Jim Chaney
DC Lance Thompson

I would be more than happy with this if the other choices are Sumlin and Calhoun.

Not listening to his show, but someone said Colin Cowherd is reporting Muschamp to TN after a text this morning. This obviously goes against his report yesterday. He was right on Kiffin leaving for USC.

Cowherd also said Muschamp to Tennessee was a done deal yesterday. He's wrong. It's time to move on.

Totally confused but this was absolutely hilarious for some reason...:eek:lol:

No that was speculation in the morning, he never said done deal. The poster said this was off a text from a source he received at 1105 today. Obviously, this could be conflicting.
