All things Muschamp (merged)

Stoops at Oklahoma:

Top 5 in coaching salary
great recruits from TX every year
an easier conference to play in
storied tradition of football
great game played every year with national attention: Red River Rivalry
We'd obviously pay him more. We have some tradition. I believe UT-UF and UT-Bama are also going to be appealing. That being said, I doubt he'd come. I'm just trying to keep myself a little more optimistic before I find out it's Calhoun.

Muschamps decision is no surprise. He will not return to the SEC unless it is as head coach of Georgia, his alma mater. Hamilton does not need to waste time and cause further embarrassment to the program by publicly groveling for candidates that have zero interest.

So when does Hamilton seriously turn to Kippy... when all other options are gone.

That just sucks... if he isn't careful he could run him off.
Part of me feels like Kippy + plus remaining staff + few big time additions might work...and maintain a great deal of continuity. But then it is such a huge leap for someone who has largely been a WR coach his entire career.
There just is this huge question mark hanging over him, and such a gamble.

I"m seeing nothing than the "department spokes person" who states Muschamp is staying. I'm calling BS until Tex or Muschamp makes an official statement. I just saw on espn we are targeting him and nothing else. Seems to me no one knows what CWM is thinking right now!

Calhoun wouldn't be great, but he'd be about 10 times better than Cutcliffe, who would be a bandaid.

If Calhoun is the guy, then he needs to be introduced wearing a T-shirt that says, I WAS AN OC IN THE NFL; I ONLY RAN AN OPTION AT AIR FORCE BECAUSE I HAD CRAPPY PLAYERS on it. He would need to say that basically every other sentence during his press conference.

I love to watch the option, but they can barely stand it at Georgia Tech. They would throw things out of the stands at Neyland if we didn't win immediately.

Kinda like USC did before poaching The DongEater Trio from us.

Kiffin was USC's 5th choice.

These guys didn't get to their respective positions by backing down from challenges. Don't buy that 1.

Where is the promotion? Oklahoma could play for a Natl Champ next season. Tenn just got set back quite a bit. I can't see a coach like Stoops coming to Tenn. with the work that it requires right now. I am still puzzled why Chris Petersen keeps getting overlooked for vacancies.

although i know its not true im just going to entertain your latest post robvol.... so who accepted the job??????

At last I can finally get on Volnation.com.... Something needs to be done with server issues. This site needs to be able to handle the amount of traffic that is coming in during this time. It was horrible not being able to get on here last night.

Man, looking at all these threads makes me sick.
Muschamp In (confirmed)
Muschamp Out (confirmed)
Calhoun In (confirmed)
Calhoun Out (confirmed)

It all just makes me wanna vomit. I couldnt even sleep last night. I just wanna go to sleep and wake up and have our man....and the RIGHT Man!

I cannot believe how many people want Kippy Brown. He's never done anything! He's never been a HC or a coordinator in college or NFL. No way you make him head coach. It would be a disaster!

I agree - I actually think Leach would work - he's a winner. Forget all the crap with James (and liking pirates).

Leach has had one great year... aside from that .. what has he done?? Mediocre in a mediocre conference year in and year out. When was the last time Texas Tech played for a Big 12 Championship?

We cannot get him due to the no bailout to Texas or UGA that Hamilton apparently issued. This was the deal breaker.

There is not a bailout or buyout clause in Saban's contract. He can leave anytime. Sometimes you got to give in if you want your #1 choice.

They are the lowest rated station in Nashville, with 3 sportcasters who know nothing about sports except rumor mills or gossip groups. If some of you are going to base your confirmations off a local Nashville ABC affiliate, you need new sources.
The sad part is that they are the best in Nashville. If you want sportscasters that know nothing watch Rudy(NBC) and Hope(CBS) they are both clueless.
