OK no one can ever question you again about being from Tennessee. You know LaFollette and probably know how to say it. :salute:

Have you ever been to Lexington? I have, and it makes me crack up every time I go. There is a small town just outside Lexington called Versailles, named after the French town, as in the "Treaty of ..."

Anyways, the Lexingtonians insist on calling it Ver -sails. LMAO every time they spoke.

Before I forget, here is your daily dose of the Dan. Now, this one needs a little intro. The singer keyboard guy for the Dan is Donald Fagen. He has had some solo hits over the years (centuries, hat might say).

One is a song called IGY ("International Geophysical Year" or something like that). Here's a Japanese band doing a cover of it. Pretty good, too, and surely hilarious to watch them try to Americanize it.

I actually dated a girl from Versailles. Weird.

Even funnier than that their is actually a real live castle in Versailles.

Why would we use the French pronunciation? Do you call Paris or Pareee?

I am actually building a house in Ver-sails.

No, I suppose I would not. Do you live in Kanocksviley? Or just go to school there?

It was obvious when LSU came to TBA that Big Baby is exactly that! LSU started SEC play flat and he gave up like a Big Baby. He hardly ran the floor and flat didn't look like he wanted to play. To bad Brady didn't take notice that they actually played better when his tail was on the bench. I would be more concerned if Baby didn't start.

I live in Lexington. You can kanock on my door anytime you are in town. I used to play softball in Versailles. In fact, if you ever do come up and pronounce it Versigh, you may get laughed out of town.

An ex of mine was originally from Lexington, and she told me that not only is Versailles pronounced "Ver-sails" by the natives, but another town nearby Lexington, called "Athens," is pronounced "Ay-thuns." I'm crappin' you negative. Correct me if I'm wrong about this, Lex.

I guess it just sort of fit the stereotype of the uneducated hick. Not fair. But it did.
