AJ Johnson/Michael Williams Case (merged)

This one may be harder to prove unless once again phones and camera's were used. Only other thing would be the other victim not charging has anything useful to help the victims accusation.

As mentioned on the board the other day there are numerous witnesses and cell phone records. It will probably come down to the prosecution witness accounts standing up to cross examination. Once the defense has a chance to depose the witnesses we will see if they try to go for a plea.

NFL career is pretty much over before it started no matter what - Goodall will find a way to keep him out

Where do these college kids get the money for bail when charged with serious crimes? Does the university, athletic department, boosters, etc post it? You know damn well most athletes nor their families have that kinda money on hand.

Even more so if the rumor of a cell phone video is true. Delete doesn't mean it's gone.
As we know from the Vandy trial. After the verdict all the jurys said it was a slam dunk after viewing the video. Makes you wonder why bother to even go to trail with that evidence. I guess the defense attorney got to make money.

So if and when he goes to court, and if he is found not guilty? Will he get back the money he posted for bail???

I'm sure someone with legal expertise can help me out here.

So how does this work, if he's found innocent, does he get his $40k back? How sh*** is that? Not saying he's guilty or innocent, just making an observation

If I am not mistaken when one post bail it is only 10% of the amount requested....so $4000. If he skips town now the bondsman owes $40k to the court. not sure the process if found innocent, think he loses the $4k

There is a reason its going to a grand jury. I don't hate it for AJ, I hate it for the girl.

Considering what went down at Vandy along with the stuff that's been going on in the league, there's no way in hades that this wasn't going to trial. This is just a tragic situation for all involved in which there will be no real winners.

How many of those players are Butch Jones guys?

R. Jones, Williams (who joined as a walkon in '13), and the other potential freshman player in the story by the Tennessean were Butch guys.

Johnson committed to Kiffin before decommitting when Kiffin left and then finally recommitted to Dooley.

Lane committed to Dooley.

Bondsman keeps the 4k

I think too many people don't understand the legal system

While I agree, you do understand to be indicted there had to be enough actual evidence of the crime for that to happen. I'm not saying he's guilty, but there would be no indictment without something. Or things have changed.

Yes, he should minus the fees set by the court and bonding company.

He most likely only had to put up a small percentage of the 40k and the bonding company posted the rest.
