Unfortunately, that is the definition of assault. The threat of a violent act if the accuser states they believe it would happen. The carrying out of the threat is actually battery. You can get charge with assault with a deadly weapon by simply pointing a gun and saying you are going to shoot. You do not have to pull the trigger.

I have never understood the mentality of forcing oneself on a girl/woman. I need her to want me; too. I guess if you're an animal of sorts. The thing that really ticks me is WINSTON skated . If AJ did it, I feel nothing for him; either.

She can void any consent form with a no at anytime. There is no protection from accusations except to say no yourself.

She can say no shortly into it, right before you are about to finish, or change her yes to a no the next day. Hooking up is dangerous for both parties.

I think the sheer number of problems is concerning. We have four players being investigated for sexual assault from three separate incidents. Yet, somehow thousands of young men graduate college without being accused of rape.

While I usually fall on the side of accuser this article was so vague and seemed to be an agenda piece, at least to me. If it's found who it is and he's guilty go as hard as possible in the prosecution stage. But this article just missed the mark in several ways..,

I think this OP is ridiculous and more than accusatory but I be damn if I don't get an attorney to draw up a consent form and take away any he said she said. It is a epidemic on college campus's these days and a lot has to do about the almighty dollar. Some are legit, but just like a condom a signed piece of paper stops the outcome. When I think of what happened on the hill in my day with my athlete and fraternity brothers, what is happening today is a punch in the gut.

I think his point zoomed right over your head. When he was coming out of high school and signed with Tennessee instead of floriduh you wouldn't have wanted that? He would've been a Vol at that point instead of a gator.

What is with you all. Do you really think these young horny guys who have girls fawning all over them are going to turn it down. Heck no. Most of the time everything is consensual and there are no issues after "hooking up". The two involved have a good time and that is that, maybe they run into each other sometime and hook up again.

But occasionally somebody either changes their mind during or after the fact, which would normally be the girl, or somebody reads more into the "hook up" than there was in reality. This could be either partner and so maybe the guy seeks out the girl forces himself on her the next time, or she finds out she is not the only girl but one of many and tries to hurt the guy with accusations.

But to expect these kids to never drink and abstain from sex and live some kind of sainted life is not realistic. Also, to think the guys are solely responsible is also ridiculous because the girls also culpable to a degree in this as well. The girl in AJ's case was on a sports team at UT, so is CBJ going to speak to all the womens sports teams as well. The second girl was just a visitor from Florida who was in town for the weekend.

Totally get what you are saying. And I am not saying that this is what occurred because I wasn't there. But, with the way the law is written, if the female is drunk, or has been drinking, that can be grounds, regardless of what she says, agrees to or initiates, The law is what it is and being intoxicated basically makes sex off limits the way the laws are now written. Not saying I agree or disagree, not saying this is what happened. Im just stating what is and when you live under a spotlight, you have to be aware.
One article mentioned other reported sexual assaults on campus but none of those will be on ESPN. It comes with being in the spotlight and you have to understand that.

Very well said. The players should be given this outlook and I think they would try to listen. Of course things tend to change in the heat of the moment.
