Oh hell no! The girls names should have been released just as soon as AJ's and Michael Williams names were released. If you're going to accuse someone publicly of doing something to you then your name should be dragged through the mud just like these two guys were. Innocent until proven guilty is a concept that's being shat on with cases like this. The guys are already being punished before any evidence has even been mentioned. Hell there aren't even any charges being pressed by either of these two females. That is the definition of bullshlt! That woman should also be removed from her rowing team.
Where to start?
First, the two women did not accuse anyone of anything "publicly." They made a complaint to to the Police department as that was their proper and - in fact only - recourse.
The only reason it has become widely known publicly is because of the celebrity of the accused. The news media covers events they consider to be newsworthy.
If you want to consider laws governing what the media reports, we'll need a constitutional amendment. Might want to get started as it will take a while.
If you want to consider allowing the police departments to decide if and when they disclose who they arrest or investigate for criminal activity, enjoy your stay in Nazi Germany or the Soviet Union.
Finally, the two accused haven't been punished nor have they been found guilty of anything. They will receive due process.
The only "punishment" is suspension from team activities, and has been said many times before, playing football for a university is a privilege and that privilege is at the discretion of the university. In light of the circumstances, suspending that privilege is not only within the rights of the university, but seems absolutely proper if only to protect the university's own interests.
