Didnt really care. Its something new.

The show is absolutely visually stunning.

I did. I’m not going to credit something just for being new. Leia flying around in space in the last Jedi was new too, and that was laughably bad. But, that’s just me.

Ahsoka on the ship's wing was 'woke'. Woke ship wing fighting.

I really enjoy the story line. But i'm also a big fan of the Thrawn Trilogy. Loved the fight that ensued during the epi. Was it the greatest Star Wars moment? Nah. But, i'm glad to see them moving out of the box.

I loved the clone wars series, rebels was good as well. And I’ve enjoyed Ahsoka aside from a few small things. This one wasn’t for me though. I was literally laughing at that scene, really bad.

Oh goodie...another Star Wars spin off. My gawd. At least with John Wick, they knew when enough was enough...well...one too many, but I guess closure was needed.

Limited fan thinking where everything has to connect with Luke Skywalker and R2-D2, is what doomed episodes 7-9. Cut the cord! There’s a fascinating EU available…this coming from a non-Star Wars nerd.

The Star Wars that I knew and loved as a kid died a long time ago, and Disney just put the final nail in Indiana Jones' coffin. Sad to see Disney continuing to pillage the corpse of Star Wars with this filler.

I wasn’t the biggest fan of the new episode.
the scene where Ahsoka is running around on the wing of the ship was cringe.
I wish they'd put more in the episode, but that part didn't bother me much. Honestly I'd wondered why it hasn't happened before. They did it in a way that was somewhat believable.

Some people take this stuff too seriously. It’s ok to not like some things when you hate everything you either have some bias keeping you from enjoying it or you’ve just put brown it.

Most of the EU was garbage but over all I agree SW doesn’t have to all toe to the Skywalkers.

It’s a lot of well thought out material waiting for the right storyteller.
is it though?

There are some nuggets to pull from (which they are doing in this show) but most of it was better off scrapped.

Have you really looked at the extent of that nerdverse? It puts Game of Thrones to shame. Of course it had a couple decades head start. Whole worlds and star systems mapped out. Languages, cultures and written history. I look up a face I glimpsed in the original trilogy and there’s a detailed backstory. Gives me tiredhead, but I pay attention long enough to be impressed. Get a Star Wars Geek in the octagon and he’ll break down each of the Jedi Council’s fighting styles and influences before you can point a finger and make blaster noises. 😎

Yes but it was all written by several different people over 20 years and there was lots of contradictions. Lucas had moderate rules on things they couldn’t right about but he wasn’t looking over every aspect either. Then when he made the prequels he just went in his own directions regarding lore and didn’t get caught up in the EU stuff. Same goes for Clone Wars.

Lucas went all Saturday morning cartoon with his creation long ago. Best movies had others imprint. I’m saying I glimpsed just a smidge of what “several different people” put together and it’s substantial source material. Whether Disney is smart enough to utilize it is on them.

Still find it corny and stupid. But it’s just one episode, been good over all.

Admittedly I didn’t love it in Clone Wars but I guess because I had seen it before it didn’t bother me.

My kids LOVED that part. That was the most excited they have gotten in this show with some vocal “Whoas!!!”

Some colleges offer Clingon as an elective language?

That's when you've reached douche canoe status.

They watched Rebels as it aired when they were little. Like the oldest was in 1st grade during the 4th season so the other 2 were in preschool. They don’t remember much details. They have been jumping around in it some while we awaited this show.

Same with Clone Wars. I was watching it with them between seasons of Rebels. There are episodes they like a lot that they will watch repeatedly (particularly the ones that focus on R2 or Yoda) but they don’t remember most of it.

Really when they are in the mood for SW they put on a movie or Mando.
