Aguilar eligibility update

Pure speculation. Also none of us were at practice. It’s easy to sit back and say oh we should have played Hooker in the beginning.
Right. Doesn't have anyhting to do with what you or I think, but the proof was in the pudding brother. He picked Milton over Hooker. And again, if Milton doesnt go down, we "MAY" not have gotten to see the better QB that JH looked over to begin with. Not speaking in absolutes, but theres no argument who the better QB ended up being. And Nico just flat out sucked at running this offense.

Everybody thinks Hooker played lights out from the start once he got in. He didn’t.

Never said that. But It was pretty clear when he came in the game against Pitt he gave us a better chance than Milton, and he gradually got better the more he played.

And that Pitt game was the first in game action for hooker in Heupel’s system. Neither QB had shown anything special at their previous schools. All he had to go by when deciding on the starting QB was what he saw in practice. From all reports, Milton was the better QB in fall camp. What exactly was he supposed to do? It still boggles my mind how people hold that against Heupel as if he somehow doesn’t know how to evaluate QBs.

Being ignorant of the matter does nothing to deter them from expressing a strong opinion.

Practically every coach in the world is gonna start Joe Milton over Hendon Hooker unless Joe is absolutely terrible. Theres a reason he’s in the NFL today & Hooker ain’t.
Joe 100% had the fundamentals, the arm, etc. He certainly never had the football IQ for it. That was the big difference in those 2. In the NFL football smarts can’t cover up for lack of fundamentals. In college it can. Hooker certainly couldn’t throw it 70-80 yards, but he was much smarter on the field.

Coaches are-- WAIT FOR IT! Human beings, as such aren't infallible, They can roll the wrong dices on a QB no matter who they are.
The great Vince Lombardi had massive doubts about Bart Starr, Bart Starr was not Vince Lombardi's first choice for quarterback; Lombardi initially had doubts about Starr's physical abilities and leadership qualities. Josh was mesmerized.by JoMil's practice prowess, something that has smitten other coaches
with other players, periodically. No one is immune to well executed magic tricks. Including Josh Heupel. The greatest magic trick? Fans too dense to realize and accept reality, as opposed to fantasy.

It’s tough to see that in 4 weeks of practice.

Those 2nd guessing Heupel on that are simply complaining to complain.

Actually they’re just countering your argument and opinion and you don’t like it. I see both sides. People perform different on different stages. Practice/games, etc.

On the other hand it’s hard to declare JH a “QB whisperer” when the only reason we got to see HH was due to a lackluster QB going down. It’s hard to imagine a “QB whisperer” wouldn’t have seen some flashes with HH at some point.

When did JH say he was a “qb whisper”? I’d love to see the quote.

That’s what I’ve been saying. Apparently this forum doesn’t agree with that. Those were the QBs he picked too.
A coaching issue or in evaluating qb, which actually is a coaching issue as well. I agree with you something wrong if we don't have a qb on our present roster who is not ready to play

Who has he recruited while at UT from High School that has done well, Nico only average, Hooker he inherited and took Milton over him. This is yr 5 and apparently we have no one on the roster who is ready to play?
He developed Hooker. How do you know GMac isn’t ready to play? He is a freshman.
