Adams article

I don't see a hatred for Tennessee. I see dissatisfaction with Fulmer. Similiar to much of the Vol fanbase. When you realize that Fulmer does not equal Tennessee, you'll see things in a completely new way.
Some put him on a pedestal like joepa. Tennessee had tradition before phil.

If it's such a podunk little paper, then why the hell is everyone making such a big deal out of it then?

Because the podunk people here who have absolutely 0 to do with the University other than paying their money to come to the games on Saturdays, and call into the Sports Animal will make a huge deal out of it.

Chemical dependence withdraw can kill you without sedatives and mechanical ventilation (medical induced coma). The alcoholic needs to make the decision to quit but they need assistance. The DRUGS people take alter the normal make-up of the body so it is more than "in your head". Ironically, many of the effects of chemical dependence are in the brain.

The only drug with proven physical withdrawals is heroin. That is why they have methadone clinics because addicts cannot quit cold turkey. You can be the biggest smoker or cigarettes, weed, crack, etc. or can be an alcholic and can quit just like that without it killing you physically. Sure you may be grouchy, depressed, irritable, etc. but you will not die.

take those people out of the stadium on saturdays and it'd be empty. I wouldnt be so quick to call them names.

He's a student. When you're living on campus, it's hard not to have at least some contempt for the masses who take up all the parking, void themselves into the bushes, and scatter their trash everywhere. It comes with the territory.

when I was a student there was never any parking anyway. I was a bartender on the strip and I never resented the people. As a matter of fact, I loved all the folks coming down out of the hills. All I saw was dollar signs.

Bottom line: UT has surpassed Miami as the poster team for bad behavior in college football. It’s the college equivalent of the Cincinnati Bengals.

It's not the same if it only happened for one year to the Bengals.

about how bad Fulmer is.....I wonder if they are going to discuss the bammer thugs and the lack of discipline by Slick Nick...if you want to write an article criitical of our program, ok but don't go on the program of the mouthpiece for the bammers and slamming TN when we all know they have had as many problems as anyone. We can criticize our own but we don't need Slimebum's comments about our program...let him help Slick Nick with his brilliant advice!!!! Slimebum even pretended to be grateful to Adams for writing the article, as a TN alum which we all know is phoney...Slimebum couldn't care less about TN...he just hates Fulmer and wants him to go down and Adams gave him more ammunition....I doubt they discussed the bammers discipline problems!

The 1998 vols were good but Fulmer did not coach the vols to that title (I'll explain). Number one we got away with one at Syracuse (fact: pure luck). Florida missed a field goal (fact: floridas kickers are never that great but it wasnt missed because of Fulmer, it was luck). CLINT STOERNER, no need to go on about that game ( fact: not luck, but a pure act of God).

Florida St. quarterback Chris Weinke was out. Let me say this John Ward's final season this was a year of destiny no matter who our coach was. God helped the vols to the 1998-99 national title and for that im thankful. He has now turned away from the vols because of our crude heathen players, (half of whom are either past, present, or future criminals.)

So I ask this. What has Fulmer done since 1998? answer 2 SEC eastern divisions championships that we only won because teams that beat us stumbled and we happen to luck out. POINT OF POST: Fulmer has never been as good as advertised and he definitely sucks now.
For you to downplay the merits of the national champion team of 1998 is blasphemy....are you really a VOL fan? It is what it is.....undisputed NC....Every national champion has moments such as these....how long have you been watching football rookie?
and Welcome to the VN, fasten your seatbelts

WRONG.

What a drive home it was in B'ham today to hear Adams on Finnebaum's show blasting the UT program. Talked about Culquitt, recommending Fulmer resign, Hamilton is happy with Fulmer and the "thugs 'we have in the NFL (Jamal Lewis, Leonard Little, Haynesworth) blaming them on Fulmer. BUT, really suprised me in saying that UT fans were not passionate and are satisfied (for the most part) with 8-4 seasons and playing in Outback Bowl. Only two coaches in recent history...Said LSU fans would never settle for this. Also said his emails are running 75% in favor of what he has written and his call in show is running about the same. Bama fans now all over this on Finnebaum...

Let's just repeat the entire "Adams article" thread all over again, shall we? It'll save time if we all just cut and paste our posts about Adams out of that one.

I would not agree that our fans are not passionate. I would agree that our fans are, for the most part, satisfied with four-loss seasons and playing in second-tier bowl games.
