Adams article

Agreed.....when does it come to a point in the locker room that they say "I don't want to be that guy."

Accountability is definitely lacking.

At least no guns have been involved and no ones used a keg as a weapon, at least Colquitt knew what a keg is supposed to be used for.

I was under the impression that he made some crude sexual comments to an underage girl and the girl's mom had connections to the Athletic Dept.

The girl's dad had connections to the Athletic Department.

The "crude, sexual comments" were never made. The words were misconstrued by an overzealous mother.

I think my biggest problem with this article is the cheap shot at T. Henry. Okay, so it's not the best idea to have nine children with nine different women, but it's hardly criminal and is in no way comparable with the alcohol-related incidents, the gun toting and the assaults.

Very crude and irresponsible journalism on Mr. Adams' part.

Well just remember that when all is said and done that God still has ROCKY TOP playing at his house and programs are programs. This is the season that will tell all, the blasphemy will reign down like brimstone if it is a tanking season.
Go BIG ORANGE

it's incredibly criminal that he was recently in court for not paying child support and spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on bling at teh same time.

Seeliger wrote that the football player displayed “bad judgment in his spending habits,” dropping $100,000 for a car and $146,000 for jewelry. Meanwhile, Henry fell behind on support payments for his child with Beacham that were mandated by a previous order. Threatened with jail, he borrowed $9,800 from his former team, the Tennessee Titans, to pay the bill, according to court records.

so that's what should have been reported in the article and nothing more, if that is in fact the case. how many baby mamas the man has is irrelevant to his culpability for non-payment fo child support.

"My first job as a coach is to be an educator and a mentor." Phillip Fulmer

Looks like he failed Travis Henry in that department. If Phil's going to make that claim then TH's parental irresponsiblity is completely relevant.

You're so right. Henry's parents had nothing to do with the morals he has.

FYI Mentor does not equal parenting. Now....if CPF had set the baby daddy example, you might have a case.

didnt say that. Phil said his job is to mentor the players, if that's true, then he didnt have much effect on TH, so he failed as a mentor. Unless he was mentoring him to be an absentee deadbeat father.

"You can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink it..."

Thing is, if you're going to bring up one example of "failed mentoring" you're going to have to bring up the hundreds of football players that come through here and do the right thing.

David Yancey and Darwin Walker are two prime examples of good guys coming through and getting their degrees.

Gee, who knew you could use a dictionary?

Should he tuck them in too? Maybe warm milk and nookie?

If a kid doesn't have a decent moral background before getting to college that is not the coaches fault.

you guys all miss my point. If Phil is going to defend his Colquitt decision by saying his first job is to teach and mentor, then shouldnt he admit failure when his mentorees fail? basically what Im saying is that Phil is using that line of reasoning to defend a poor decision in keeping BC around.

and Gee, who knew you could read, Hooked On Phonics really does work.

8 years of working in residential substance abuse treatment helps a little. I only know what's reported by the media, but that seems to be enough to call for a dismissal, imo.

He did admit to failures in his response.

In my 15 years, I've undoubtedly made some mistakes, but I try to do what I think is in the best interest for each young man.
