Acid reflux

I can eat jalapeños again!

That is literally the only thing I changed. Caffeine and fast food. I strongly believe the fast food was the chief culprit. I stopped the caffeine after the fast food and could only tell a small difference but still a difference.

I haven't had fast food or a soft drink in 8 years. I lost 20 lbs and have kept it off.

Had an attack overnight. It got completely into my lungs, and I couldn't sleep due to wheezing issues. I hate this stuff. It doesn't help that I have a cold too.

That's the worst when you get past the acid but can't go back to sleep because you hear yourself breathing.

Been there several times. Nothing to do but cough like hell and get mad. I stopped the fast food a year ago and haven't had a bout since. Hate to get on my soapbox but it's the only thing that has helped and it completely eradicated it.

That's usually why I have to take my inhaler.

After reading through this thread I've tried not to eat within a couple of hours before laying down. It has helped my reflux some.

So I've started taking the bigger dose (or at least higher number) of Zantac before lunch and slightly before bedtime daily and I haven't felt like crap since I started (except today). I actually forgot to take it before lunch and felt horrible. Learned my lesson.

Oh head's up, if y'all take Zantac, Target has a 30% off coupon on their Cartwheel app right now. Pretty solid discount if you're needing to get another bottle.

I started that also. I was taking one 150mg tablet, but started taking two.

Tomato based foods, especially Italian is what bothers me the most. I've come to realize that eating guilty pleasures in the middle of the day and giving myself a window of around 4 hours between my last meal and going to bed has helped tremendously.

Chocolate is an absolute MONSTER. If you've got AR don't EVER eat chocolate before bed. It burns the worst coming back up.

Recently I've been having these singular "hiccup" type things happen after I eat. Literally just one every few minutes. Doesn't really matter what food I had eaten prior.

I could be talking & mid sentence let out a hiccup that makes me lose my breath for a moment & have to kinda hold my chest. It's not really a hiccup but idk how else to describe it..I just wince for a second & stop talking until the acidic feeling leaves my throat.

Also I have a dull aching type pain on my sternum like right where the bone meets the upper abs. Sometimes it's VERY painful & other times it's just annoying. Comes & goes throughout the day for no rhyme or reason really. Everything I've tried to google brings me back to acid reflux..does this sound right to y'all?

Sounds like classic GERD.

But then again, I've got a business degree.
