This is Fulmer's fault. He should have never recruited this great player and then quit. Oh wait we fired Phil. Good move, us.
We have a proven OC who knows how to coach and has a QB right now with a Super Bowl championship who will agree.
WE have a DC who is a proven winner and has multiple BCS bowl winds under him.
WE have one of the best WR coaches in the game.
And our HC is a proven recruiter who helped lay the foundation as LSU with Saban and Saban felt comfortable enough about his skills to take him with him to the NFL.
I think people need to start looking at the whole pie here and stop focusing on one little piece of crust on the edge.
So,Genius, you can name all the great things that have happened and explain how we are better off. This has been a comedy of errors. Some of you shot our collective football foot off.
A Foolmoron at its finest.
Just because "B" (Kiffin) didn't work does not mean that "A" (Fulmer's ousting) wasn't needed.
If you think the program was going anywhere other than the 6-8 win range as long as Fulmer patrolled the sidelines then you are kidding yourself. If the evidence on the field against top tier programs what was happening. 1998 was 12 friggin seasons ago.
If any mistake was made regarding Fulmer it is not getting rid of him in 2005.
Less than if Fatboy were still here. Dooley won't last more than 3 or 4 years anyway, then UT will hire a real coach and be back within a couple of years after that.
Never said it was OK. Just saying the damage will be less than if UT allowed Fulmer to become Paterno v2.0.
