Aaron Douglas Officially Gone

This is Fulmer's fault. He should have never recruited this great player and then quit. Oh wait we fired Phil. Good move, us.

yeah it was a good move.

I believe he will take time off to sort things out, but don't be surprised if he is back on the sidelines next year. I'm not saying that he definitely will be by any means, but I would not be at all surprised if he was. Just my 2 cents... And maybe some inside info.

What if VN had been around the day the news "broke" about Fulmer replacing Majors.

Meltdown?

I was around that day. I thought it was a good idea. I remember Johnny coming back after surgery. We started to lose games right away after we had been winning with Phil.

I wish someone else would hire Fail so all his slurpers could follow him there and leave the rest of us the Hell alone. Unfortunately, no one worth a crap is going to hire a 60 year old washout who hasn't won a championship of any kind in 12 years.

We have a proven OC who knows how to coach and has a QB right now with a Super Bowl championship who will agree.

WE have a DC who is a proven winner and has multiple BCS bowl winds under him.

WE have one of the best WR coaches in the game.

And our HC is a proven recruiter who helped lay the foundation as LSU with Saban and Saban felt comfortable enough about his skills to take him with him to the NFL.

I think people need to start looking at the whole pie here and stop focusing on one little piece of crust on the edge.

^^THIS^^ UT's had a few bumps in the road. It'll all shake out and the team will be better for it.

So,Genius, you can name all the great things that have happened and explain how we are better off. This has been a comedy of errors. Some of you shot our collective football foot off.

A Foolmoron at its finest.

Just because "B" (Kiffin) didn't work does not mean that "A" (Fulmer's ousting) wasn't needed.

If you think the program was going anywhere other than the 6-8 win range as long as Fulmer patrolled the sidelines then you are kidding yourself. If the evidence on the field against top tier programs what was happening. 1998 was 12 friggin seasons ago.

If any mistake was made regarding Fulmer it is not getting rid of him in 2005.

Are you serious?

BTW, there were 14 - 15 players that left the program or got kicked off the team when Lame was here.

hmm it seems a little different when a coach kicks off a bad player that cant hack it vs a player that leaves a team cause its a sinking ship.

oh yeah going from fulmer to eventually dooley is a lot better decision! the mistake was made by not locking up kiffin. this program is being ran into the ground and all you wishful thinkers arent helping matters any. i would much rather be going into this season with fulmer at the helm than who we have now. im not bashing dooley but we got rid of a legend for a 3rd stringer. it was 12 seasons since we won the nc, just how many seasons do you think it will be before we win another one?

Less than if Fatboy were still here. Dooley won't last more than 3 or 4 years anyway, then UT will hire a real coach and be back within a couple of years after that.

there were a fair number coming out about that, but it got labeled as being "fulmerites" a lot by the opposing side

Yep! and I was one of them! I wish I could say I was a "Dooleyite" but with all that has happened I'm taking a wait and see approach.

So you think it will be OK that the program fails for 7 years after Fulmer was fired?? I just don't get you haters that would cut your nose off to spite your face.

Never said it was OK. Just saying the damage will be less than if UT allowed Fulmer to become Paterno v2.0.

Good grief, where do you get your ideas??
JoPa has been 11 and 2 in 2009 and 2008.

So by your reasoning I would have loved to see Fulmer v2.0. And I think he could have done it just like paterno.
