Can't wait to see how all the BB critics are going to spin this one. I don't think the "bleed orange, good riddance" argument will be used.

There is a chance he is wanting to get released so he can go to rehab. I think football takes a back seat when your fighting a serious addiction to drugs. I think we should let this play out before burning any one at the stake.

If he is addicted to pain killers (which I hear is serious...see Rush Limbaugh), it could be a matter of life or death. Why play football and take a chance on getting hurt, just to be put in the postion to be given pain killers?

Maybe he thinks DD sucks, I have no idea. Maybe it has been suggested to him by people that are "in the know", that right now...football is the least of his worries.

Not according to Dooley. That’s one of the many lies he’s told thus far.

He said that he forgot about the meeting, I have no reason to believe that the man is going to lie about a meeting with a kid not even on the team.

This is a huge hit. Douglas has proven that he's an SEC caliber player... Bryce Brown has the talent but he has NOT proven he's an SEC caliber RB yet.

i doubt he is leaving for rehab when Dooley said he wouldnt release him to anyone on our schedule...

sounds like he wants to keep playing football, just not at UT.

In BB’s situation I do know something. Like I said, this thread was a poor place to start this argument, but it’s just more upsetting news related to Dooley.

But isn't that like saying "It's just more upsetting news related to YOU". I mean, you evidently consider yourself part of the Vol Nation (like Coach Dooley), and you probably didn't have anything to do with the situation (just like Coach Dooley)...

I understand this isn’t Dooley’s fault. This thread probably wasn’t the best place to begin railing on Dooley, I’m just saying losing two All-Americans on top of the less than stellar PR job he’s done thus far makes me feel less and less confident about Dooley and Co. every day.

Your coach is at USC being an attention whore. When will you realize that PR is a non-essential part of college football.

BTW, where were all of the anti-Kiffin threads when half the freakin' football team quit last year?

Yes. But don’t tell these people that. They think he’s headed off to rehab in Maryville and begging to play for Dooley, who’s just too tough for him.

Or, perhaps he's trying to leave Knoxville to get away from all of the familiar people who share similar vices.

True, but if he is trying to recover, which I have no idea if he is or not, it can't help to be around the same people that have been a party to your actions.

there is no better town than maryville. Championships much? Haters...

Anyway I know Aaron very well. This isn't because of Dooley or the fact that he doesn't bleed orange. Both of this kids parents went to UT and he has been a vols fan his entire life and will always remain a vols fan. He has multiple personal issues that he needs to deal with before he can ever think about a career in football. That is the reason for his release. From someone who is close to the situation, for him to transfer would be one of his best life decisions even though it is not the best for the football team.

Leave the kid alone...... Let's focus on the players we have and pull for them. The wins will come. Book it.
