Aaron Douglas Officially Gone

Yes. So is the statement that he does unless you know of something that he did or didn't do that caused it. AD may come out and say he doesn't want to play for him... but somehow I think it is more than that.

In BB’s situation I do know something. Like I said, this thread was a poor place to start this argument, but it’s just more upsetting news related to Dooley.

I understand this isn’t Dooley’s fault. This thread probably wasn’t the best place to begin railing on Dooley, I’m just saying losing two All-Americans on top of the less than stellar PR job he’s done thus far makes me feel less and less confident about Dooley and Co. every day.

So let's get this straight. Dooley IS in fact in on a number of solid '11 recruits in spite of his supposed PR problems as evidenced by articles just this day on the Recruiting Forum... however since you "feel less and less confident" about his PR job... Dooley must be at fault for Douglas leaving?

If it is true then it is upsetting period... but it may be just as related to you as to Dooley. Until you know something, don't lay blame.

Correct me if I am wrong. But if he wants to be released, doesn't that mean he wants to play somewhere else.

probably eventually; i mean the scholarship is a contract they sign, if they want out the bigger side that wrote up the agreement usually has to let them out

otherwise you get brandon warren scenarios where like the player has to sit for 2 years before doing anything anywhere else athletic

but it seems pretty standard for a school to release them from scholarship if they're going to leave or transfer somewhere else

In BB’s situation I do know something. .

Then say so.

From my gleanings concerning that situation, it did have "something" to do with Dooley and particularly the coaching change. Basically, CLK made some promises that CDD did not commit to keeping.

Yes. But don’t tell these people that. They think he’s headed off to rehab in Maryville and begging to play for Dooley, who’s just too tough for him.

Really? Who said that?

I believe that's a dishonest debate tactic called "poisoning the well" IIRC.

There is a chance he is wanting to get released so he can go to rehab. I think football takes a back seat when your fighting a serious addiction to drugs. I think we should let this play out before burning any one at the stake.

Correct. Nothing is Dooley’s fault, as soon as he became the coach he became untouchable in many of your minds.

This is not Dooley's fault if it is from what all the rumors have been floating about.

You don't need a release for that do you?

I won’t go any further than that until everything is final as I believe there is an extremely small chance he will change his mind. Like I said, once Bryce is officially gone as I’m 99% sure he will be I will share what I know, until then I don’t feel it’s appropriate.

the problems since january are just mind boggling.

i think this might be the least excited i've been ever been about ut football when spring practice is going on. these problems need to end.

Geez this isn't good. Can't blame Dooley. He is the coach and he gets to do things his way. If the players don't like being a Vol....adios. There's always turnover when a new guy starts...it just makes it more noticable when it's an All American.
