A&E decides

Stay poor so they were already poor so how can you be so sure they would not be poor without it?
Are a higher % of blacks living in poverty now or before the civil rights movement?
Do you believe blacks were happier living under Jim Crow laws in the south or are they happier now?

I cannot be sure if someone stays poor or not, welfare incentivizes poor people to stay that way.

I have no care about when they were happier and we are not limited to the choices of Jim Crow laws or a welfare state.

You guys buddies or family? I just realized you're two accounts are practically the same and both are listed as being from Orlando...

I thought my mind was playing tricks on me for a second.

Nope. Just a couple of Florida cracka vol fans. I hope you aren't confusing his Frank Zappa avatar with my Bruce Campbell Army of Darkness one!

Hell it's more of extra bonus for many.

Man that is a toughie. Obviously a people would be happier and better off not under the specter of racist laws. I think, and I'm white so I could be totally wrong, but after the civil rights movement there was an attempt to find ones cultural identity that was not European. A lot of people had/have no idea what tribe captured and sold their ancestors let alone where their ancestors were when other Africans snatched em up to trade them for some crates of rum and coriander.

I get a sense there is a general lamentation amongst the black population that they are not thriving like their fellow Anglo/Asian countrymen. There are so many negative cultural issues to deal with. The lighter the skin of a black female the more attractive thye are. Lighter skin black dudes get punked by the darker ones. Dress/act/achieve similar to a white person and you are an outcast..a sell out. That right there I think is a big problem. I hear it a lot from other black people, some people aren't black enough. What does that mean to be blacker than others? A rap sheet? 6th grade education? Illiterate?

I literally have never in my life said or heard anyone say "you aren't white enough" to do or belong to something. Well, outside of some gingers saying they were too white to go to the beach but thats totally different.

Happier? Depends. Poorer? Probably not.

I don't really want to read all 21 pages, but was there an actual discussion in here or just everyone shares the same views and thinks it's persecution?

People who go to church think persecution..the rest don't. And somehow racism has been invoked.

Just like every other VN Politics thread, I see.

I've been pissing conservative Christians off on Facebook all day by defending A&E's right to fire him. The same people that think businesses should be able to fire based on sexual preference.

It's been a good day for trolling.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but...

Several churchy types think A&E are well within their rights to get rid of him.

At least one homosexual thinks they shouldn't have.

Mindblowing. The 21 pages would have been worth it.

:hi:

Well now I don't know who to believe anymore. I'm still not reading it.
