Not endorsing in any way whatsoever, but Hitler was probably the best speaker and manipulator in the past 200 years.

uh, you're in the band. Why would you get respect?

Band members deserve respect. Try putting on that god awful wool uniform and marching a halftime show in 100 degee plus conditions. It ain't easy. It isn't what the football team endures, but it still isn't easy.

Besides which, who do you think carries on time honored traditions? Playing for the Vol walk, marching to the stadium, pre-game, half-time, the thousands of times Rocky Top is played each year. Most band members(at least in my day) were just as big as fans as anyone on here. Respect what they do and what they add to the gameday experience.

Thank you, that's all I wanted to say. It's just hard to do with the mind of an angsty 15yr old male.

Not to mention, if you can play any band instrument, you probably have more talent than majority of the population.

I can respect that, but the way it was presented warranted the response.

Don't take it personally, but for my money, the band lends nothing to the experience. I'm not much for pomp and circumstance, but I have considered pomping a float once.

I got the point.

And it was still an incredibly stupid thing to say.

How so? Who else could have created a government and nation to commit such terrible acts? No one likes the guy, but you're out of your mind if can't admit that Hitler was phenomenal at what he did.

I don't respect Hitler as a man.

I respect the fact that he was good at what he did. You know, the whole war thing.

He was awful at what he did. He was an idiot politician swept to power by horrendous economic circumstances. He had the best military and general staff in the world and came away with a destroyed, broken country.
