Yeah... good point.. no one cares about the band

agreed, so why the bitterness? Marching around and never considering anaerobic or aerobic level exertion merits nothing in a thread about exertion in the heat. Get over it.

Though I don't know you or your band, I'll say that some of the most popular bands in East TN are garbage IMO. They probably wouldn't be anywhere near as successful in a bigger city than Knoxville.

Given that you are in high school, let me break it to you. Here are the only people that care about the band -

1. Band members
2. About 25% of the band parents (the rest only support because they have to)

That's it.

Entire towns don't shut down for your cpmpetitions on a weekly basis. There aren't websites dedicated to where band kids are going to college. Etc. Please get it out of your head that the whole world and football revolves around the band. It's a nice add-on, but the world would go on if no bands ever existed.

I'm just surprised you guys treating a kid like this

It's not you guys. It's me. First, your silliness about band practice vs two a days was ridiculous. Second, I had no idea you were a kid. Third, I don't care.

The only thing in my head is that we deserve a little more respect than we get. It would be nice to feel like we're doing what we do because someone actually cares, and not because once we join, we're obligated to do it..

Wow, I sound like a little *****

to wit: have never seen a band perform at halftime at any sporting event.

There are tons of people who care about crappy bands. Example: 80% of local Knoxville bands that perform regularly.

Our "band practices" are more intense than anything I've seen the damn football team do.

Then apparently you haven't watched the football team much. I marched in the band for a few years, and band camp was brutal, but the football team gets pushed much harder. If you really believe otherwise, then you're crazy.

The school i went to.. The band got more respect than any sport... Our football team was garbage.. They would go like 3-7 and make it to the playoffs.. Our band had like 405 kids in it and was the biggest in SWFL and I think the entire state.. Played at Tampa Bay Bucs games, Dolphin games, Disney world... Nothing wrong with the band, but 2-a-days is deff 100x worse than what band does..

Haha completely missed that post :hi: I'm probably not qualified to speak on the matter in that case.

However, my HS's band was/is elite. It's a big deal, but not in the grand scheme of things.
