103* here deep in the heart of Ga. Hope they are practicing very early and very late. I'm amazed there aren't more heat related problems than there are.

I remember the scorchers in Nashville when I played Pop Warner. If you're a conditioned athlete, it doesn't take as much of a toll (not saying that I could do it now haha). It's good for them. Just stay hydrated.

ya when your in good enough shape it almost seems like once you get that sweat going you just loosen up and play better. There recovery time is insane. I just worry about the freshmen because some of them aren't as conditioned right now. Maybe thats another reason Dooley has them seperate at night to

Sunny and 75 in Western Washington right now. The only thing I don't miss about back home is the 99 degree temp with 100% humidity.

I can't even think about enduring the heat these young men deal with during August practices!

It's 109 here in East Texas with a heat index of 115.....TN humidity has nothing on here on the TX/LA border. Its rough outside right now.

I was playing golf yesterday (Utah) and the humidity here has been about triple (or more) what it is normally. It was about 50-something per cent yesterday and felt stifling. Reminded me of home, or what used to be home...and then I thought, "this isn't even close to the humidity at home and yet it's killing me." It's still comparatively high here today (39%) and it makes a noticeable difference once you are used to it being dry all the time. On a visit, I would probably just collapse there now... after whining like a kid for a few hours.

They are not pansies out there. I played HS ball in the day that coaches would give you salt tablets, but no water in 2 practices a day. We practiced in pads and ran windsprints after practice. Nobody died and I can't remember anyone having heat exhaustion. There were some broken noses because we didn't wear face masks.
I am not saying bring back the "good" old days, but my goodness, this is football, not majorette or band practice. I am not against precautions and taking advantage of new knowledge of best practices, but c'mon now.
