Exactly. We keep hearing about how close we are. Just need to "clean a few things up", but will this staff pick up the mop and broom and get it done? Folks complain about tackling, penalties, clock management, but that goes back to UCF and it continues here....as you pointed out in year 5 here and 8 at UCF. I'll go out on a limb and say that I don't believe this staff can or will "clean things up". Fans won't want to hear it, but I suspect Golesh was Heupel's Cutcliff. Guys who demanded you do the little things and do them well and every single time. Without that discipline, well the results are clear.

Oklahoma and Vanderbilt are going to be tough, and Florida in Gainesville is a loss until its not. If we win 2 of those 3 we will be doing well.

9-3. Florida game is a loss. Until we win in the Swamp, I don't count it as a win. Same with Tuscaloosa. It's very frustrating we can't win in those 2 places.

18 vs 11 down there - there is a reason they are 111-5 at home. The crew last night called Auburn at Oklahoma game earlier this year. Saw how that turned out. Not blaming the refs as we were in the game until the pick six. Got to go in 16-14 or at worst 16-10. There was a turd opi in the endzone on our other receiver but of course no flag.

We'll get em next year in Neyland. Every other year the vols play bama and the gators on the road and those are lost years - more or less. We may catch Nico in a bowl game which could be interesting.

All we have to do are fix the things that have been obvious problems for five years and have never been addressed and then we will be rock solid.

We are well past the rebuilding phase. Things appear to have stalled and the evidence at this point is that we are more likely to hover around as the fifth best program in the conference than to get to the summit.

It really is. The pick-six was a 14-point swing. Other than that, we competed pretty evenly.

I don’t think this is one of Heupel’s best teams, but it’s still a pretty good team. I see us finishing the regular season with around 8 to 9 wins. And I’m not going to go full on “fire the coach” about it. I still believe this program is on the right trajectory (especially given how bad it was 5 years ago).

The SEC has changed. Even really good teams will lose 1-2+ games in a season. It is a challenge every week. We are not exempt.

We lost to a really good conference opponent on the road. It’s not the end of the world.

The one thing consistent about this team week-to-week is poorly played games. We shoot ourselves in the foot way too often every game. We play sloppy football. They just can’t play clean football for whatever reasons. Watching Vandy yesterday was an example of a team that plays hard, plays up to their capabilities, and plays clean football.

Never thought I would say Vandy will be tough, but here I am. Oklahoma, no cake walk but we win. Florida we will embarrass.. TN will go 3-0 against that lineup.

I believe in the team too. To be just what they've shown us they are. The question is, do you see what it is that they are?

Or, has hopium gotten aholt of you? This is not nearly an SEC title team. As such, any and all hopes for the championship playoff seems a bit silly at this point.
