Ole Miss even if they won would've replaced SMU not us...try harder...

At no point did we fall out of the playoff rankings by the committee...you simply can't admit you're wrong again boomer
I guess any of the 3 milllion what does Tn need for a path to the playoffs threads or articles on google are all wrong. They should’ve just asked Ricky. They are silly.

And again with boomer nonsense. lol. You’re only about 25 years off. But then again I’ve not seen you be right about much. Have an amazing mediocre Sunday Ricky.

Oh so playoff threads on a message board and "google articles" are where you get your "facts" not the ACTUAL playoff committee rankings that had Tennessee as a solid playoff team the entire time. 😂

Your M.O. is easy, you spout trollish or emotionally wild statements, then when pressed for facts, you either lie or run away and refuse to stand by your statements, just like with the "25 teams better than Tennessee"

Liar at worst, coward at best, troll none the less

Man this one stings. We have let 2 games get away from us , that we had every opportunity to win . Fix the piss poor tackling and the clock management issues and we can play with anyone in the country . We are capable of winning the next 5 ! Mulligans are gone . Maybe I'm nieve, I definitely view the world through ORANGE colored classes. Win the next 5 and go to the playoffs . I believe in this team ! GO VOLS !!
More games will get away from us. I noticed back during the Syracuse game that our secondary just isn't very good. I say again, get rid of Martinez. His CBs don't know how to turn their heads to look for the ball. They get beat repeatedly. This is an old problem that persists with our teams. Get rid of him, hire some someone who knows how to teach CBs and safeties to play the positions. We need ball hawks. Another thing is our front four are actually quite good, but can't tackle. They got push, they disturb that QBs, but often fail to get them on the ground. Opponent QBs escape as if they oil soaked eels or greased pigs. Until this changes, games will continue to get away from us. Told ya early in the season we are going to be something like 8-4 or 7-5. Got pooh-poohed.
Oh yeah, you know what!? Vanderbilt is coming. They're not the joke this year, they typically have been.

LMAO you are so clueless...we were always in, the debate was whether we would host or not.

Here is EVERY playoff ranking released in 2024 by the committee and Tennessee's ranking:

Nov 5 - Tennessee was 7th
Nov 12 - 7th
Nov 19 - 11th
Nov 26 - 8th
Dec 3 - 7th
Dec 8 - Final Ranking 7th

Tennessee at 10-2 needed no "help" the committee had us in solidly the entire time.

We needed no losses from anyone, the question was whether Tennessee would host a game at Neyland or go on the road in first round.
I think on November 19 we were actually the "first team out" because even though we were "11" because of the Group of 5 and conference champion outlook at that time, it appeared there would be some lower ranked teams that would automatically qualify. That lasted only 1 week though and it was always unlikely no one ahead of us would lose in the next 2 weekends.

The only thing that changed that affected the playoff standings in any meaningful way was SMU losing to Clemson which essentially knocked Bama or Miami out because it moved Clemson up 8 spots..

That's why when he said "we were lucky and needed several teams to lose" I knew once again he was FOS....

There was NEVER a debate about Tennessee's playoff status after we lost to UGA and were ranked 11th in the playoff rankings, it was only if we could host a game or not..(Which we would've under today's standard)

We should've and would've hosted SMU at Neyland and then played UGA in the 2nd Round

I agree ,Martinez is probably the weak link on our coaching staff . It's tough to judge Martinez on this year alone though ,considering both starting CB's haven't played all year . McCoy was considered by most as the best player on the team . Bad angles and poor tackling is a big concern in my opinion, not sure who that's on . Banks ultimately ?
I agree Vandy is well coached and they play smart and hard , Pavia is special. We could go 7-5 we could go 10-2 , I'm sticking with. My preseason prediction of 9-3 but hoping for 10-2 .
